Tesla's much anticipated Robotaxi is scheduled for 10th October. The event has already been pushed out from August, and the fact that it’s now taking place at a film studio in Hollywood only adds to the intrigue and anticipation. The hype around robotaxis is likely to reach fever pitch over the next few weeks, so we thought it would be a good time to look at the opportunity, as well as the potential hurdles and risks facing the companies trying to claim their slice of the market. https://lnkd.in/gVZRi8k9

Last’s week’s Market Insight covered the remarkable growth of GLP-1 diabetes and weight-loss treatments. For now the market is dominated by Novo Nordisk, but at least a dozen other companies are developing and testing similar drugs. This week we are taking a look at some of those companies. We are also highlighting some of the industries and companies that could win or lose if GLP-1 use continues to increase. https://lnkd.in/egQY3XK5

If you’ve been looking for a mega-cap, US listed, reliable dividend payer, Exxon Mobil has probably crossed your desk. Over the last 10 years, it has increased its annual dividend payment by 3.2% per year to $3.80. While its current yield of 3.3% isn’t the highest, it’s above the lowest quartile that only pay 1.4%. The dividend sees affordable, considering it is covered by 45% of its net income and 52% of its cash flow. If analysts forecasts are anything to go by, the annual dividend amount should continue increasing. https://lnkd.in/geW-MPif

Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk shareholders must be pretty stoked with the last few years of performance. The latest generation of GLP-1 medications have resulted in massive gains for these two pharmaceutical giants. But the revolution may only just be getting started, as a pipeline of similar treatments are going through clinical trials. These drugs could offer similar results to patients suffering from other conditions, and have far-reaching effects on other sectors and the economy. We’re going to spend the next two weeks covering the investment opportunity and risks for these companies, as well as some of the industries that could be disrupted by these drugs. https://lnkd.in/gWfVaEH8

Copper (AKA Dr Copper) is often regarded as a leading indicator for the global economy because it is used in so many industries. Interestingly, the copper price peaked in May and has fallen as much as 22% since then. In the short term, it appears that copper supply is overwhelming demand, and that may be a warning sign for the global economy. But the longer-term picture is very different with a potential supply deficit on the horizon. If that’s the case the current weakness may be offering investors an opportunity. This week we are taking a look at the outlook for copper producers, and how to gain exposure if you agree with this narrative. https://lnkd.in/g66G-k7e

We’re not sure how many people can say they can add $20bn worth of value to a stock in a day, but Brian Niccol, current CEO of Chipotle, is now one of them. News broke this week that he’d be replacing the current Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan, who will be stepping down immediately, while Niccol will join Starbucks on September 9th. Starbucks has had a tough time recently and this change in leadership could spur a new direction for the business, possibly with new menu offerings, a better digital experience and improved rewards programs. Investors perspectives on SBUX will need to incorporate this new leadership change. The current investor narratives on the platform will be posting updates soon! Click follow on them to be notified when they’re posted, or comment on them if you have any questions or opinions! Better yet, create your own narrative on SBUX to help you make an informed decision on if this is a buy, sell or hold. https://lnkd.in/gAWawDBy

A perfect storm swept through global equity markets last week. The jury is still out on whether this was a blip or the start of a bigger downturn. There were quite a few catalysts behind the sudden increase in volatility, and investors will need to keep an eye on them over the next few weeks and months. This week we are unpacking 5 of these catalysts and how important they really are in the medium and longer term. We’ve also got 3 timeless principles to help you make the most of any market volatility and reduce the anxiety that comes with it. https://lnkd.in/gGmd9dsR

After losing its antitrust against the Department of Justice, Google may have a tougher time striking deals with partners to be the default search browser. However, its strength in search may be strong enough to maintain its user base and dominance of online search.
