We're thrilled to continue our collaboration with the Honorable Ed Husic MP, who visited our PC1 facility in Springfield on August 1st. It was an engaging and productive meeting where we discussed the RNA landscape, the new RNA Blueprint, funding opportunities, and the substantial growth of Southern RNA since his last visit back in 2022. During the visit, we showcased our progress in custom-scale mRNA manufacturing, which is crucial for advancing personalised medicine. Our discussions highlighted the current gap in Australia's GMP manufacturing capabilities for mRNA drugs and our strategic initiatives to bridge this gap by the end of 2024. Minister Husic's insights into the Industry Growth Program and the RNA Blueprint were invaluable. We emphasised the need for balanced representation of industry and research leaders to foster a robust RNA ecosystem in Australia. We also discussed funding strategies to support both R&D and development capabilities for the continued growth of the industry. Southern RNA is pleased to disclose that our new GMP facility, dedicated to mRNA drug substance manufacturing, is well underway. This facility will feature ISO7, Grade C cleanrooms, which will support initial first in human Phase I clinical manufacturing projects and pave the way towards TGA approval for Phase I & II projects. In addition to our advanced cleanrooms, the facility will include GMP-compliant warehousing to facilitate efficient manufacturing processes. All Quality Control activities will be conducted in-house within our dedicated QC labs, ensuring rigorous testing and validation to uphold the highest standards of product quality, with focus on NATA accreditation. This milestone represents a significant advancement in our commitment to advancing RNA therapeutics through precise and reliable manufacturing practices.
