The Biggenden Show celebrated an historic 124th Show on Saturday 18 May with clear skies and perfect weather. The Show draws locals and visitors alike from the surrounding North Burnett region of Qld to enjoy a true country ag show. Events such as the Biggenden Show provide local farmers, families, and friends an opportunity to get out for the day, connect with community and celebrate rural life. Celebrating community is a big part of why Teys became involved as an event sponsor for 2024. The 2024 Show program curated by the Biggenden Agricultural and Pastoral Society included cattle judging (our favourite), pony club, horse events, rides, the famous tug-of-war, mustering, poultry judging, horticulture, floral work and crafts and cooking competitions and judging. Truly something for everyone! Shows like this are a success because of the dedicated volunteers, local businesses and supporters – well done to all involved! #QueenslandAgShows #TeamTeys #NorthBurnett #BiggendenShowSociety

Congratulations to our team at our Wagga processing facility. Teys at Wagga has won the inaugural award for the most successful plant at the AMPC National Beef Carcase Competition awards dinner held during Beef2024, beating 18 other processing plants from across the country. This award acknowledges the beef processing plant that had achieved the highest score based on number of entries, pen scores and timeliness of the data submission for the competition. The award also recognises the hard work of staff of each participating plant that contributes to the success of the competition, which is also supported by MLA Meat Standards Australia. Cattle from The Land's Beef Spectacular Feedback Trial, which is run each year at the Teys Jindalee Feedlot, were then processed at Teys and also cross-entered into the National Competition for Beef. These competitions cover everything from NLIS compliance, NVD compliance, all through the feedlot feeding process, cattle performance, animal health and carcase grading, so it's more than a carcase competition.
