Back in 2012, Brenda, our wonderful BDM/Sales & Marketing person—or really just all things relationships—answered a call from the Middle East. Hiba wanted to know if we would zoom over to Riyadh to help with the food for a Royal Wedding. Have plane = can travel, and off we started around the world and back many, many times. The Glasshouse, alongside Collingwood Football Club’s new facilities, opens with a 500-person event space. Spearheaded by Eddie McGuire’s passion for both Collingwood and Melbourne, this purpose built event space placed The Big Group in the heart of Melbourne and Olympic Parks epicentre. The Big Group Reopens the Iconic Art Deco Myer Mural Hall The Big Group has a long history with Myer, having hosted boardroom lunches for the Myer board since our inception. When the opportunity arose to reopen this unique space in Melbourne and create a permanent events business, it was too good to refuse. We celebrated with a grand party hosted by the Keebaughs, featuring guest of honour Sidney Baillieu Myer AC. We were losing big tenders due to lack of retail experience. Thanks to Chadstone, we proved The Big Group could excel in retail. Capital Kitchen at Chadstone redefined shopping center dining for 450 guests. This success led us to manage major food services for corporate offices, starting with ANZ, BHP Billiton, Myer, and more.
