Our CEO Káti Jahromi Gapaillard GAICD spoke with WAYFM about the changing role of fathers 💙💪🏼 We know dads have a critical role in a child's life, and we are seeing the shift of dads being more involved and engaged in their child's upbringing, starting from pregnancy! "New dads are really wanting to be involved and in a really hands-on way from the beginning, so there’s definitely been a change in expectations, but also the change that fathers have stepped up, realising how important it’s for them to be involved in their children’s lives." As this shift continues, it's important the rest of society keeps up. From workplace policies, to healthcare services and general attitudes towards father's equal role in caregiving.

We’ve all been there as parents - asking our kids a question only to get a one-word reply in return. 🏫 How was school? "Good" 🎒 "Did you learn anything new today?" "Not really." 🛏️ "Did you sleep well?" "Yeah." We want to get to know our kids, their likes, dislikes, thoughts and opinions, but at the best of times getting more than a few words out of their mouth can be challenging! Solution: Being conscious in asking open-ended questions helps to get them talking more, and we will be discussing the best way to approach this.
