Starlight Children's Foundation Australia is helping create a brighter future for more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in remote communities through its Healthier Futures initiative – and we’re here for it with a contribution today of $100,000 from The Lott by Tatts NT unclaimed prize money. At the heart of the program is the Captain Starlight figure who provides positive distraction for kids through song, dance, games and storytelling to make vital healthcare visits less intimidating and therefore boost attendance. “What happens in childhood lasts a lifetime, and we know that when healthcare participation increases, health outcomes improve,” Starlight's Partnership Executive Doreen Smith said. Today we released our FY24 Annual Report, as well as our full year financial results and first standalone Sustainability Report.    From a recording-breaking $200m Powerball jackpot to our commitment to responsible play, we reflect on our achievements over the past 12 months, made possible by our amazing team.    In her Letter from the CEO in our Annual Report, Sue van der Merwe said: “We foster a culture that encourages our employees to love what they do, and do it with pride and integrity.   “We’re committed to a better future. In doing so, we will continue to prioritise delivering our games safely and with integrity, and ensuring our licences continue to deliver value widely, including to governments, retail partners and shareholders.”   Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ggj6fNGi   #TheLotteryCorporation #CreatePositiveImpacts

Our team was chuffed to help the Children's Hospital Foundation and Queensland Children's Hospital kick start their 10th birthday celebrations in November with a long lunch in Brisbane yesterday.   Our Chief Customer & Marketing Officer Andrew Shepherd spoke about our deep connections to the hospital and the foundation’s amazing work helping more sick kids through world-leading research, cutting-edge equipment and vital support programs – which we’re proud to help fund through an annual investment of $1.5 million via unclaimed prize money and state lottery taxes.    #TLCLife #CreatePositiveImpacts

We’ll support our community partners in any way we can!   Last week we handed over the old phones our people donated during May’s Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month to DV Safe Phone before slipping on the runners to raise funds for the charity in yesterday’s Sunshine Coast Marathon.   Some of our Sydney team also got their steps up for the City2Surf yesterday in support of Orange Sky Australia, with both runs’ fundraising totals doubled by our matched fundraising program.   #CreatePositiveImpacts #TLCLife

We love supporting our people to help causes close to them.   On Sunday, 12 of our Brisbane team hit Dreamworld for a 5km fun run, raising funds for mental health and wellbeing charity LIVIN through our matched fundraising initiative.   And yesterday, another 40 of us volunteered part of our work day to put together 7,000 school packs at our Brisbane office for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation Inc.’s upcoming annual child safety and education awareness day Day for Daniel, while a few of our Melbourne crew enjoyed the great outdoors helping plant 3,000 new trees near Geelong with Greening Australia.   #TLCLife #CreatePositiveImpacts

They’re the heart of so many Aussie towns, the small businesses big on making a difference in their local area – from fundraising for sporting equipment to working with disability groups.   Our new Local Heroes campaign stars four lotteries legends who go above and beyond for their area, with their videos – including Adrian Hatcher from Moonta Newsagency in rural SA – featured on The Lott’s social channels.   “These videos beautifully capture the personality, charisma and real sense of community and giving back among our lotteries retailers,” our Head of Community Partnerships Hans de Koning said.   #CreatePositiveImpacts #TLCLife Elizabeth McPherson Bethany Wiedemann

We’re thrilled to celebrate the second year as a major partner of the Sydney Opera House with an amazing competition for our customers!   Last year, the rich history between The Lott by NSW Lotteries and the iconic landmark was renewed to mark the Opera House’s 50th anniversary.   This year, we’re continuing to celebrate with a competition offering Aussies the chance to win the ultimate Sydney Opera House experience of flights, accommodation, dinner, a show and more!   “It’s still so incredible to think that way back in 1957 when Australians bought their tickets into the very first Opera House Lottery, they were helping to create an incredible international masterpiece and a cultural icon,” our Partnerships Manager Elizabeth McPherson said.   “The Sydney Opera House is just one example of the remarkable impact Australian lottery players have made to the nation. Over the decades, Australia’s official lotteries have also helped to deliver hospitals, world-class research and assistance when disaster strikes.”   Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gGj7wDMs   #CreatePositiveImpacts   Gamble Responsibly. This week is Gambling Harm Awareness Week in Queensland with the theme 'Safer gambling—we all have a role to play', a motto our Responsible Play team – who attended yesterday’s event launch – and wider business live by.   We pride ourselves on giving our customers a fun yet safe and secure environment in which to play our games. This month, we were proud to achieve Level 4 re-certification – the highest level possible – from the World Lottery Association (WLA) for our ongoing commitment to customer protection and continuous improvement.   #CreatePositiveImpacts

Great people attract great people and our referral program is proof of that.    Amy Phillips recently referred her friend Emma Shaw-Johnston for a customer service role at our contact centre. Having worked together previously, Amy thought Emma’s experience would make her a great fit.    “Joining The Lottery Corporation was the refreshing change I needed. I’ve really appreciated how supportive the team leaders are, and I've been impressed with the room for growth within the company," Emma said.    Our referral program not only strengthens our team but rewards employees with a $1,000 bonus for successful referrals.    Congrats Amy and Emma!    #TLCLife #DareToFindABetterWay
