DeadlyPolo 🖤💛❤️ In recognising that on 1.76% of our current membership nationally in 2022-2023 identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and that WPA has a responsibility to grow that percentage, our Reconciliation Action Plan serves to recognise our history and create ways to connect moving forward. Utilising the opportunity presented by the #AYWPC24 in January 2024, it was the prefect opportunity to pilot and refine the DeadlyPolo concept. An invitation was sent to local Indigenous community groups, recreational centres and AYWPC participants to attend the free session. Reconciliation Australia #NationalReconciliationWeek

Inline with National Reconciliation Week, Water Polo Australia wishes to provide an update on the progress of our first Reconciliation Action Plan. Our Reconciliation Action Reflect Plan was launch in August 2023, endorsed by Reconciliation Australia and developed by WPA’s Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, led by Co-Chairs and Water Polo Olympians Dean Semmens and Nathan Thomas.
