The group will advise the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) on the ethical and social concerns young people have about science and technology. They will help the department understand how they can inspire the next generation of young people in STEM, and how they can redesign programs to reflect young people’s perspectives.

At Oaktree, I was selected out of hundreds of applicants to sit on the Oaktree Community Engagement Team. This team is a crucial group that leads Oaktree's advocacy and liasons sector as well as organises their largest fundraiser: Live Below The Line.

Live Below the Line is a fundraising campaign that helps Australians take action on poverty and injustice. It is a challenge that sparks thousands of conversations about global poverty, inequality and Oaktree's work across Australia.

They started Live Below the Line in 2010 as a way of enabling Australians to engage with the issue of poverty and to take meaningful action on to address its root causes. Since then, over 64,000 Australians have raised more than $11.5 million for education, empowerment and campaigning initiatives that help fight injustice.

Through my position I had the opportunity to:
    - engage directly with school to create presentations and advocate for poverty awareness
    - coordinated and ran the Student Ambassador program, a unique program that involves empowering passionate high school students to create change in the community
    - connected with various schools to be a driving force and promoter of the Live Below the Line Campaign
