Qwilr is a cloud based SaaS product that enables businesses to move away from the traditional way of preparing business proposals. It aims to replace the non-evolving tools with beautiful web pages that communicate the business case in a lucid way to customers. My task was to identify the right marketing channels for the company and come up with appropriate marketing channels and strategies to reach out to those verticals. Following the 'Traction' model for marketing, the business verticals were validated and marketing strategies elaborated with right test mechanisms. The conclusion was to focus on Inbound marketing techniques to appeal to the customers. Each business vertical was analyzed for avenues to reach out to the clients and the recommendation was to publish relevant content to drive customers to our website.

With competitors trying to encroach the lower end of the market with predatory pricing, we had to make a move to defend the periphery. Our management has taken a decision to come up with a tool that is 40% cheaper while meeting the quality requirements stipulated by the customers. I have dealt with the design of heat source and rotation scheme for the tool. The solutions delivered for this tool needed to be radically different from the existing tools as it would be very difficult to meet the cost targets. Also, we wanted to maintain separate tools to avoid cannibalization of the product lines. It required me to think about the problem from a completely fresh perspective, which could be very challenging if the right team was not assembled. While maintaining some members who knew the core process, a new team outside of the traditional Anneal team was formed to develop this tool.
