I've been in VR since the Oculus DK1 and back then good UI and UX was still being figured out. We had VR apps using xbox controllers and having users doing all sorts of nauseating movements. As VR matured, we quickly found out that xbox controllers were not ideal and we needed to focus on UX and UI that grounds the users and was to over whelming. On screen UI become more world space and users were instructed to sit down before they were flipped upside down in the VR world. Even today we are still trying to figure out what is good UI/UX for apps. With technology such as MR coming more main stream some experiences have to go back to step one for this new medium.

Very few people can be told how to do something and remember it forever. If training is important for your work due to things like safety then consider making the VR training mandatory for x number of hours a month to ensure you and your staff maintaining up to date knowledge on the topic.

VR has been around for a while now and some of the older applications might no longer be receiving updates making its content out of date. Before downloading a training application look to see when it was last updated and what the latest reviews say. If you find it hasn't been updated in over a year then it's likely it won't be the best application on the market. If you have downloaded an app that you believe isn't up to standard then leave a review to let other people know and also let the devs know what can be improved.

Like any app thats on a store, you may find that there may be alternatives that you can use. Not everyone learns the same way and the app you are using might not provide what you need to really absorb the content. If you are a company that needs to use VR to train staff, consider reaching out to a developer that can create bespoke applications to ensure it contains the content you need.

VR is a great medium for applications which means it isn't just good for games but can also be used for training and helping workers do their jobs. With such a diverse number of use cases, it helps to branch out your contacts into all the fields VR can be used in. Look for people in upcoming technology such as Gen AI, Block Chain, and Web 3 as you may find some interesting use cases where VR can be beneficial.

When working in the developer world, you will find that it sometimes has a higher number of people with lower socials skills compared to other professions as it allows people who are not great at being social to keep to them selves and still do their job. No matter who you are talking too, if you treat the person with respect they will see you as a friendly face which can take you far. If you do run into a situation that is making you uncomfortable try and find a way to bring it up that doesn't escalate things but if that doesn't work reach out to someone you know for help in the matter.
