About

💡 Many organisations have AV technology systems that are difficult to use, frequently breaking, or not aligned with needs. Sound familiar? This leads to frustration and holds people back from performing at their best. I help corporate, government, education sector leaders implement AV technology solutions to facilitate high performance outcomes for their staff and customers. NEED HELP NOW? +61 403 327 323 | [email protected]

I co-founded and now manage the specialist Audio Visual and Technology (AVT) consulting firm konnectus. My team and I have decades of experience customising AVT solutions for modern workspace, education, government, retail, hospitality, entertainment and more.

It may seem obvious, but an organisation's investment in AVT can only provide material returns when the following key points can be claimed:
🔑 The AVT provides a significant and measurable improvement in experience and/or efficiency for your people and organisation
🔑 Your people embrace the AVT and find it easy to use
🔑 The AVT is robust and reliable

No one understands the importance of the above 3 points more than I do, and I am proud to lead a passionate team of technology consultants, engineers, designers, project managers, and trainers at konnectus who are driven to deliver these outcomes.

The konnectus team has delivered user friendly, fit for purpose, and crystal clear audio and video systems to more than 1500 spaces across 300+ projects throughout the ANZ region. Our proven process has helped over 100 medium to large organisations in 8 different industries.

Clients that work with my team and I save at least 20% on initial AVT investments, and over 50% on ongoing annual operational costs.

I GUARANTEE to deliver the agreed set of results on every project. No exceptions

A complete overhaul of the technology across the workspace was undertaken by QBE prior to starting the office upgrades in Sydney and Parramatta - a combined 18 levels across the two CBD locations.

The konnectus team was instrumental in collaborating with the global QBE technology stakeholders to define a set of workplace technology standards for all different types of meeting spaces, as well as the open office user experiences.

Various user groups within QBE were interviewed and a consistent message was received when asked about workspace technology. Existing technology was too complicated and too unreliable. A feature of the new technology in meeting spaces was absolute simplicity. Literally a “1 button press to start” solution was implemented across all meeting spaces, which resulted in overwhelming positive feedback from QBE users.

Microsoft Teams as the single communications solution was also well received by the end user groups and as a result will be rolled out globally across all QBE sites throughout 2020. QBE have standardised on Poly devices for meeting spaces and use Poly Realconnect to enable seamless Microsoft Teams calls.
Other technology highlights across the workspace included Appspace digital signage and wayfinding, and Condeco meeting space management solutions.

All easy to use and easy to centrally manage!

Close collaboration with the architect and subcontractors, enabled us to deliver first class technology solutions for the customer's staff and guests.
Ease of use, simplicity, reliability and consistent experience were the key outcomes for our customer from these audio visual systems.
This has been achieved across all spaces and use cases.
Screen sharing from a portable device is instantaneous either wirelessly, or through automatic connection of a cable.
Conference calls are initiated at the touch of a single button and tracking cameras provide a more natural video call experience, even in large rooms.
Space booking and wayfinding solutions are also single touch, and strategically located digital signage screens are used to keep the building occupants up to date with interesting and important information.
The staff and guests can enjoy a range of different space types to collaborate and meet in. These include open huddle spaces and booths, different sized enclosed meeting and conference rooms, large collaboration spaces, and large open areas for group presentations and entertaining.

The distinguished law firm Norton Rose Fulbright undertook two large office relocations in Sydney and Melbourne respectively in 2019 and 2020 that comprised a total of 11 levels. One of the technology projects associated with these office relocations was the implementation of Microsoft Skype for Business as a single platform for all communications across the business – from mobile all the way to the boardroom.

Konnectus worked closely with the Norton Rose technology team to ensure the equipment selections for the various meeting and conference spaces were all Skype for Business compatible. Ease of use for all people across the business (young and senior) was also a priority for Norton Rose. Our team came up with designs that enabled people to use the technology in meeting spaces quickly and with confidence. In addition, the user experience was the same in all room types. This meant user uptake was high from the very beginning.

A feature area in the Sydney project incorporates 2 x large function spaces, a large ante space, and an outside terrace overlooking Martin Place in the centre of the city. These spaces are used heavily by Norton Rose to hold various functions, events, and presentations. The AV system includes a state of the art sound system suitable for both high end conferencing and full range music, as well as, a large seamless Samsung LED video wall that brings any content to life with brilliant colour reproduction.

konnectus worked very closely with our customer The Star Entertainment Group to craft simple and efficient AV technology systems for the various meeting and collaboration spaces in their new Sydney office fit out in Pyrmont. TSEG migrated to Office 365, Windows 10, and Skype for Business and the new AV solutions all leverage those platforms. Wavespace is essentially a revenue generating tool for EY and, when used effectively, can provide win-win outcomes for EY and their clients. The space is a mix of different zones that are designed to be highly flexible. EY staff from different business lines can work side by side with their clients and use the variety of space configurations to collaborate, present, communicate, and even entertain.

AV and ICT technology is key to the success of Wavespace for EY. A variety of wired and wireless networks enable seamless transition of information and idea sharing to take place. The different zones within EY’s Sydney Wavespace are equipped with AV and IT hardware that include fixed and mobile touch LCD screens, a large 7 metre long interactive projection wall, a rotating LCD video wall, and a multi zoned performance sound system. Software platforms are also cleverly used to enable teams to collaborate in small groups, as well as, seamlessly present ideas to larger groups in formal or informal settings.
