As an executive technology leader, I take on tough/complex problems and solve them in a simple, elegant way. I deeply understand technology and know the right way to implement it for both customer and commercial benefit. I think big - outside the box and put all of it into action and get things done.
I work with people, process, and technology to deliver results in complex environments, working on technology problems that require high availability, high performance, mixed modes of connectivity, distributed systems, and an array of web technologies. Much of this work lies in building lightweight structures and strategy that responds well to constantly shifting priorities.
My approach is values-led. I like to make those around me successful, using my personal skills and abilities. I want to be part of a winning team and a key contributor to that team’s success.
I help teams move forward. It’s not about doing big things all the time, it’s the little nudges to get the ball rolling, taking distractions away that keep people from doing the next right thing. I always have a picture of where we are headed, but often it’s that next action that people struggle with the most.
My contribution is always to be thinking about what is the most valuable thing I can do for this team right now? In some cases, it is to sit quietly and let the conversation move forward rather than just speaking to be heard. Other times it’s encouraging people to move on. And often, it is bringing a different way of thinking about a problem.
I’m passionate about respecting people in technology and for technology to serve us and the greater good. I have been recognised by direct reports as one of the most technical and relational CTO's they have worked with.
