Huei Yin Wong is an award-winning and award-losing advertising art director, with over 10 years experience working on brands such as Ford, Cadbury, Coca-Cola, Carlton United Breweries, Myer, L’Oreal Paris, and Maybelline NY.

She is an outspoken advocate of representation in the industry and a scholarship recipient and mentor of D&AD’s Rare and Google's Rare delegate for the APAC region. In lockdown, she and other talented women launched The Aunties: Australia's first multi-level support program for marginalised genders.

In 2023, she was selected as one of 16 from over 700 applicants into the 2023 Cannes Lions See It Be It leadership accelerator. She is the Victorian co-head of AWARD School, Australia's leading creative thinking school.

In 2022, Huei was a finalist at the B&T 'Creative' Women in Media Awards, with The Aunties winning in the 'Mentor' category and being highly commended in 'Champion of Change'. She was also awarded AdAge's Rising Star award.

Huei is also a designer and artist—with work exhibited internationally, published, and in permanent collections worldwide and featured in publications like Vogue, Hypebeast, and Dezeen.

In 2020, her project Bleached Coral was nominated for the prestigious Designs of the Year award by the Design Museum of London, where it now remains as part of the permanent collection. Bleached Coral will also outlive her as part of the permanent collection at the Design Museum of Holon, where it was part of the State of Extremes exhibition (curated by Aric Chen) and featured amongst her heroes Olafur Eliasson, Virgil Abloh [✞], and Lucy McRae.

Her pandemic project, Lives and Livelihoods, saw her embroidering the world's largest stock markets on to face masks daily and can be found in collections worldwide from San Francisco to New Zealand—proudly exhibited next to heavyweights Elmgreen & Dragset, Shepard Fairey, and JR. Published in the London Royal College of Art's 'Chronicles of Care: A Design History of the Covid-19 Virus' (Vernon press, 2023).

Huei's Melbourne Fringe debut, Romeo and Juliet (2020), was called the 'most 2020 play' by The Age and raised money for the Asylum Seekers Refuge during the world's longest lockdown (at the time; 262 days).

She's a recipient of the City of Melbourne's Annual Arts Grants, with her first solo exhibition Distant Kisses drawing crowds only second to Neil Gaiman.
