About

I'm a believer in the data-driven paradigm in the age of AI.
I do some computational design (i.e. grasshoppery) stuff.
My research interest extends into Transit-oriented Development(TOD), urban scale data analytics and some fancy graph-based machine learning algorithms (someone may call it AI?).

P.S. My worldview: we are gradually moving from data-driven 1.0 to data-driven 2.0.
Data-driven 1.0: you make decisions based on information from single-shot data, e.g. a pie chart.
Data-driven 2.0: you make decisions based on predictability, enabled by ML models trained on massive datasets.
Data-driven 3.0: AI is so ubiquitous that you just ignore it. But how we perceive the world is fundamentally driven by how we produce, organise and consume data.

In my thesis, I have demonstrated how BIM could be used for structural code compliance check.
The thesis includes the following parts:
Provide a general overview of Building Information Modelling in the building industry.
Review existing code compliance works and their methodology.
Propose new framework that is suitable for structural code check wiht BIM.
    Develop a prototype for testing.
Discuss the feasibility and limitations of the proposed framework.
