About

I am a design leader who gets excited about making complicated products intuitive, and easy to use.

I have a passion for tech and IT, and I balance a fascination with the technical aspects of my roles with the enjoyment of working authentically and joyfully with others. I have a service leadership style, aiming for kindness and support while driving strategy, making tough calls, and getting stuff done. I am an expert in distilling broad information and communicating it simply through graphic recording (‘sketchnotes’) and the written word. I've enjoyed being a key contributor to the "Designing Atlassian" Medium publication.

In a nutshell I developed an interface device which allowed people with limited hand or arm function to control a computer using their torso instead.

This required the ability to organise myself and self motivate, working to personally set deadlines. My research skills were constantly being challenged and improved.

  • A degree course with a strong engineering background, which focused on the ability to analyse information critically and produce creative solutions. I took electives in neural networks and smart computing, and design for special human need.

At its core the Atlassian Foundation is using our resources and talents to improve the lives of millions of disadvantaged people. We do this in many ways, but primarily by investing in scalable education models that prepare disadvantaged youth for the workforce of the future, and in growing the Pledge 1% movement.
Pledge 1% is about companies committing to contributing 1% of annual profits, 1% of employee time, 1% of products and/or 1% of company equity to charitable causes. Find out more:…
