About
I'm an Aboriginal Elder and Educator and I'm privileged to lead Evolve Communities alongside founder and Allyship expert, Carla Rogers. We are Australia’s Trusted Authority for Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training and Ally Accreditation. Our goal is to inspire 10 million Allies to create a kinder, more inclusive Australia.
I was born in the Kimberly region of Western Australia to an Aboriginal mother and Scottish father. Throughout my life I've been fascinated by comparative religion, languages, mythology and science and have obtained degrees in law and anthropology. I have practised law in Victoria and New South Wales as a solicitor and barrister, including as a legal academic at the University of Melbourne and at Southern Cross University, teaching Indigenous legal subjects.
Now an Elder, my life purpose is to share my cultural knowledge so as to create a better understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal people and culture.
I do this through my work at Evolve, providing Cultural Awareness, Practical Reconciliation and Allyship training and certification. I have authored four books, "Seven Sisters of the Pleiades", "Journey Into Dreamtime", "Practical Reconciliation" and the soon to be published "Can You Speak Guuguubarra?" about Aboriginal language. I am also available as a speaker having presented at many events and appeared as a guest expert on podcasts, radio and television.
