About

I love technology and residential communities. Our vision is to be the platform for thriving residential communities. In my early 20's I had a huge opportunity to take StarRez international (back then it was called StarNet Systems, before I created the StarRez brand in 2003). In 2006 I officially setup the Denver office and started building an amazing team to serve our growing North American market. In 2008 we launched StarRez in London and Europe, 2009 in Singapore and we continued to grow into more than 20 countries managing over 2 million residential beds by 2021.

🚀 In 2022 I proudly partnered with Vista Equity Partners to help drive growth and scale StarRez as a global platform to the next level. We welcomed Adirondack Solutions and RMS (Residential Management Systems) to the StarRez family and now manage over 3 million beds across more than 1350+ customers in 25+ countries and over 300 global team members.

🌏 As the CEO , I am a global citizen switching between Melbourne, Denver, Austin and London frequently. I am most passionate about the product vision and connecting with our team and community, so that is where I try to focus most of my time, along with scaling the company for continued growth and success.

📡 I was fortunate to have amazing parents that taught me so much. My mum was and continues to be a great source of encouragement. Growing up, my father the late Alan Knipe who was a technology visionary and the founder of StarNet Systems. He never called himself an entrepreneur or visionary, he just loved technology and was amazing at using it to solve problems for customers. This is also in my DNA, and I became involved with the family business from a young age.

✈️ International expansion and scaling are two core competencies that I have alot of experience and success with. I also enjoy mentoring start-ups when possible.

🏃‍♂️ Away from StarRez I love to spend time with my family and friends, I love exploring new countries, tackling marathons (x4 Boston, Chicago, New York & San Fran), following all sports and I happen to be a passionate Motorsport fan.

I am a proud YPOer - Young Presidents Organization member and have been the Forum Officer, Learning Officer, Chapter Chair, Past Chair & Membership Committee for Melbourne Yarra.

Another passion I have is as advisor and board member for Children’s Fortress Africa which helps homeless children find support, love, fitness, education and purpose.

In 2022 my wife and I created the Favrte Foundation to support our philanthropy interests.

As a long time supporter I wanted to get involved to have a bigger impact and work with the CFA team to help support the great work they are doing. Helping support the recovery of street children and our goal to help them with education, sport, emotional support and help them have a great life is very fulfilling.

I am proud to be an ambassador to share the great stories and help raise awareness for the challenges and the opportunities.
