--> This project was designed for a group of 4 students to work as a team to test the vulnerability of a given network, in order to gain unauthorized access and compromise the systems on a given network.
--> The main task of the project was to conduct a test of a Network which contained four host machines. There were FLAGS (Text Strings) on each machine which had to be identified using social engineering methods and various penetration testing tools (Kali, MetaSploit, Nessus, Nmap, Armitage, etc).
--> The project required to write up the processes that were used to find the flags, for each of the flags that have been located.
--> All exploits that were found were further researched and lists of mitigation's to the exploited vulnerabilities were included in the final report of the project.

  • Malware Analysis : Attack detection and mitigation

The objective of this project was to gain knowledge and understanding of malware analysis through research and practical experience. This involved analysing the malware use of various malware analysis tools like VirusTotal, Dependency Walker, PEView, Process Monitor, Process Explorer, IDA Pro, OllyDbg and Regshot. The main aim was to study the malware present on an infected Windows XP image by:

  • Forensic Analysis of self-destructive messaging applications Wickr and Confide on Android devices

    -

The project aimed to find the traces of self-destructive messaging applications: Wickr and Android on Motorolla 4G LTE and Andy Emulator platforms. After the logical acquisition of data from these platforms, various mobile forensic tools Adobe Debug Bridge, MobilEdit, and SQLite Database Analyser were used analyse the acquired data. The findings of the experiment were documented and presented in the form of a technical report.

  • Mastering SQL Injection Attacks

    -

This project involved creating a vulnerable website and implementing different SQL Injection attacks targetted at the backend database connected to the website.
The website was coded using PHP while MySQL was used to create the database. It concluded with a list of programming practices to be strictly followed by developers in order to create an SQL Injection proof website.
