As the Culinary Development Technologist at our Fulfilment Centre in Keysborough (VIC 3175), you'll be responsible for developing and refining recipes, enhancing product quality, and driving innovation in food production processes. This role is perfect for someone with a genuine passion for food, flavour development, and convenience ready-made meals. 

Please note, this is not a Quality Assurance (QA) role; it focuses on product development and culinary innovation.

Your role:

• Innovative Recipe Development: Create and enhance recipes to meet high standards of quality, taste, and nutrition.
• Culinary Innovation: Collaborate with the NPD/Culinary team to explore new ingredients, technologies, and processes, and stay abreast of industry trends.
• Product Trials and Testing: Oversee product trials from concept to commercialisation, conduct sensory evaluations & shelf life testing trials to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Production, and QA teams for seamless product development and launch, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and labelling requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements, including ingredient sourcing, to enhance efficiency and product quality..

This is you:

• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food industry, ideally ready meals (Ready to Heat or Ready to Eat). Both fresh & frozen. 
• Proven experience in new product development (NPD) and food safety, hygiene and GMP requirements.
• Track record of successfully managing multiple projects with different priorities.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, including materials development, application, and testing.
• Passion for culinary innovation and a genuine interest in cooking and food trends.
• Confidence with Google G-suite products.
• Naturally organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Collaborator who works well across teams and functions, with the ability to manage a fast-paced workload with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
