Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of new AWS learning plans for civil servants at this week’s AWS Public Sector Symposium in Brussels. The learning plans are designed specifically for European Union (EU) government agencies and are part of AWS’s ongoing commitment to public sector customers. Public sector agencies today require digital skills to deliver the functions citizens expect, and the innovations necessary to speed up processes and address gaps and inequity. However, digital transformation can only be achieved when workers have the data literacy skills to read, interpret, communicate, and reason with this data. Coursera, an AWS Training Partner, hosts their global online learning platform in AWS Cloud. Coursera has created a four-step framework for successfully building and managing a data literacy program. The AWS public sector and AWS Training and Certification (T&C) teams worked with customers and partners across Latin America, Canada, and Caribbean (LCC) region to develop and test the recently launched AWS Industry Quest: Healthcare, an interactive learning experience that teaches how to build cloud solutions that can benefit healthcare customers globally.

AWS joins the White House, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, and other leaders in government, industry, and the education community to improve the cybersecurity resilience of K12 education communities. As part of our support, AWS is bolstering our longstanding collaboration with K12 education communities, state departments of education, teaching and learning companies, and EdTechs through key commitments, including $20 million for a K12 Cyber Grant Program available to all K12 school districts and state departments of education.

The AWS Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing Certificate Course is one of the programs AWS runs locally to help individuals get the skills necessary to repair and install fiber optic cables. Recently, AWS held a training at the AWS Skills Center in Arlington in collaboration with Northern Virginia Community College. AWS announced the launch of the Cloud Audit Academy (CAA) for Federal and DoD Workloads (FDW) in AWS. This is a two-day accelerated training course to educate customers on how to leverage AWS services to assist with US Federal and Department of Defense (DoD) security and compliance requirements. AWS re/Start is a no-cost, cohort-based, workforce development training program that first launched in the MENA region in June 2021. The program helps individuals build cloud computing skills and connects participants with employment opportunities with local employers. Over one year on from the graduation of the first AWS re/Start cohorts, AWS re/Start congratulates the many program participants, across nine countries in the region, that have launched their careers in the cloud.
