State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Geoplin d.o.o. Ljubljana, Slovenia's largest natural gas supplier, have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance their cooperation in gas supplies. bp Advances Sustainable Energy and Maximizes Reserves in Azerbaijan. Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, BP's Vice President for the Caspian region, outlined BP's strategy to maximize recoverable reserves from Azerbaijan's key fields, Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (#ACG) and #Shah_Deniz, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. bp plans to enhance oil production at ACG using advanced technologies, including a $370 million high-resolution #4D seismic program. The newly operational Azeri Central East (ACE) platform is expected to produce up to 24,000 barrels per day by year-end and peak at 100,000 barrels per day. Natural gas prospects are promising, with new wells planned to boost gas production starting in 2025. Shah Deniz's future includes a special compressor platform to extend stable production, expected to start in 2025. BP is also advancing a 240 MW solar project in Jabrayil to cut emissions by 11% and supports Azerbaijan's energy transition with various green initiatives, emphasizing methane emission reduction and increased operational efficiency. Saipem Secures Framework Agreement with bp for Offshore Operations in #Azerbaijan Milan, Italy, July 12, 2024 – Saipem announces a new framework agreement with BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited. The agreement involves a consortium comprising Saipem Contracting Netherlands B.V., BOS Shelf LLC, and BOS Shelf International FZCO. Under this agreement, the consortium will conduct offshore activities in the Caspian Sea using the SCV Khankendi, a cutting-edge subsea construction vessel owned by the Shah Deniz consortium. The total service value, upon request, is approximately $300 million, with Saipem's share at $250 million. Saipem will manage the vessel and provide the crew for marine operations in the Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields. The three-year agreement, extendable by two years, strengthens Saipem’s long-standing partnership with BP and reinforces its commitment to offshore operations in the region since the 1990s.
