    YouthSpark Advocates are young leaders who have been selected to represent YouthSpark through online and offline activities. Advocates become subject matter experts in Microsoft YouthSpark and demo the tools and resources available on the YouthSpark Hub to other students on their high school and college campuses.

    Microsoft YouthSpark, announced in 2012, is a company-wide, global initiative to create opportunities for 300 million youth by 2015. Through 30+ programs and partnerships with more than 350 youth-serving nonprofits, at the close of its second year, Microsoft YouthSpark has created new opportunities for more than 227 million young people in over 100 countries around the world.

    The Advocates community spans the globe. And its members, aged 14 to 24, have career interests that range from fashion photography, to software engineering, to game development. Advocates are tech savvy and interested in social change, technology for good, and YouthSpark.

    This paper serves the purpose of explaining how to create a system which is capable of determining user’s current position, displaying it on a map, obtaining geolocation data and address and writing/reading location bound messages. The solution is based on Windows Phone operating system and uses many of the modern capabilities of modern smartphone devices, including connection to the Internet, obtaining geolocation data, sensors and similar.
