Affiliated with IUB’s Center for Computational and Data Sciences (CCDS) as a research student, James joined a cohort of 300 students in the program organized by CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, renowned for its pioneering work in particle physics, especially with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). During his tenure at CERN, James worked with the LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty) Detector Group, focusing on CP violation—a crucial aspect of understanding particle-antiparticle asymmetry. His work involved integrating the GPU-based simulation prototype, AdePT, into the Gaussino simulation framework to improve simulations for the LHCb experiment. It has been revealed that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India, secretly secured substantial plots of land in the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Purbachal New Town Project for herself and her family. The allocation of up to 10 katha of land was made to Hasina's son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter, Saima Wazed Putul, her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, and Rehana's two children. The land transactions, totaling 60 katha, were completed in 2022 and initially classified as highly confidential. It is alleged that post-Hasina's removal from power, files related to these plot allocations were removed from Rajuk's records and hidden, sparking internal discontent. Recent demands from Rajuk officials led to the return of six files to the records room. The allocation letters, signed by Naib Ali Sharif of Rajuk, detail that the plots were valued at Tk3 lakh per katha. Notably, Sheikh Hasina's plot, located in the proposed diplomatic zone, was allocated on August 3, 2022. Her family members received their plots later in the year, with specific dates for the allocation and registration of their plots.
