🚗 Sécurité des véhicules vs. Accès aux données techniques : une victoire pour un accès équitable des données par des tiers Actualité passée inaperçue (à mon sens), mais avec de vraies conséquences sur l'accès aux données des véhicules connectés ! Le tribunal régional de Cologne a réaffirmé le 15 mai dernier que la sécurité des véhicules ne devait pas entraver le libre accès aux données techniques, soutenant ainsi le recours de @Carglass et ATU (Mobivia) contre Stellantis. Ce jugement confirme la décision de la Cour de justice de l'Union européenne (#CJUE) d'octobre dernier sur cette même affaire. Qu'en retenir ? 📍 Vers une concurrence plus équitable sur le marché de l'après-vente Les restrictions imposées par certains constructeurs compliquent actuellement le calibrage des systèmes avancés d'aide à la conduite (#Adas) et imposent des coûts supplémentaires dans la maintenance. CECRA present at the #Cybersecurity #Standardisation Conference organized by European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), CEN and CENELEC and ETSI. Shaping the future of European cybersecurity standardisation; Challenges related to the new legislation – How to tackle and keep track of the multiple regulatory requirements? How to better coordinate? Standards for new requirements on digital products – Where are we? What are our lessons learnt till now? Where are we heading? Standardisation of security of supply chains and their components – How to fulfil requirements stemming from new legal acts?

CECRA present in Las Vegas for the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) show on invitation of our friends Mike Stanton, Geoffrey P., Michael T. Regan and Albert Gallegos. We organized for our members a visit of Findlay Chevrolet (35 dealerships in US) and listened to the great presentation of the General Manager Doug Fleming. A very large delegation of our Finish member AKL Autoalan Keskusliitto with CEO Tero Lausala participated to this visit. Also the international roundtable organized by NADA, the industry luncheon, the Expo, the main stage speakers and the workshops were good opportunities to compare the situation of our European dealers and repairers with those of their colleagues of the rest of the world. More than three-fourths of dealership groups leaders who answered a study (made by Presidio group, an investment banking advisory company) showed interest in buying stores in the next 12 months despite their overwhelming expectation for lower profits during that same period. The same study in Europe would certainly give other results and ICDP presentation was clear about uncertainties in Europe due to the bad implementation of agency contracts, all remaining questions about the decision to ban combustion engines as from 2035 and the wish to promote EVs, and the massive arrival of very competitive Chinese cars. What happens in Europe can also happen elsewhere but needless to say that the situation in US is much more confortable for dealers than in Europe.

A letter, submitted by 5 countries (AT, DK, FI, IE and NL) has been sent by the Dutch government to Commissioner Thierry Breton and Ursula von der Leyen Cabinet. This letter has also been shared by the Dutch Perm Rep with the media. We want to thank CECRA ‘s Dutch member BOVAG and the Dutch Perm Rep and Government for this concrete initiative and hope it will now convince the Commission about the urgent need to come with its long awaited SSL (#SectorSpecificLegislation on #access to #invehicle #data, #functions and #resources) after all efforts already done. Time to act after 8 years of consultations, meetings, use cases, studies, press conferences and all the contributions made by the 10 EU associations following the issue since the very beginning.
