We’ve reduced the time dedicated to data collection by 50%. Here’s how. Do you wish to dedicate more time helping clients take actions that actually reduce their impact? We do too, and that’s why our partners and consultants work on a platform. This allowed us to reduce data collection time by half to do the second carbon report of Dolce by Wyndham La Hulpe Brussels. The first year, Colin Royer, our carbon expert, dedicated approximately 30 hours to it, while the second year only 15 (and this number includes also commuting time from our office to the hotel for important meetings). How did we achieve this? 🚀 Duplicating the first carbon report, excluding data but keeping all the hypothesis made the first year. 🚄 Using CSV templates automatically generated by the platform to handle large volumes of data form suppliers. ⚡ Collaborating with other users to retrieve, input and validate data. This allowed us to free-up time to set reduction targets and implementing and tracking the progress of Dolce by Wyndham La Hulpe Brussels's action plan. With over 70,000 visitors annually, Dolce by Wyndham La Hulpe Brussels chose Tapio to help them calculate and reduce the carbon footprint of their hotel, restaurant, and spa facility, two years in a row. Before collaborating with us, Dolce by Wyndham La Hulpe Brussels had already taken several steps to reduce its environmental impact, such as installing solar panels and promoting nature-friendly recreational activities. As a hotel immersed in nature, Dolce's stakeholders understood the importance of protecting the environment from day 0. They decided to work with Tapio to: 🔎 understand the impact of their actions in a science-based 📊 prioritise the most impactful actions to reduce emissions 💼 complying with CSRD at the demand of stakeholders The result of our collaboration? ☝️ In the second year, we've reduced by half the time dedicated to data collection ✌️ while also reducing the data uncertainty by almost 2%. Carbon footprint assessed 📈 After several months of work with the Tapio platform and team, we are very happy to share with you our recent carbon footprint assessment results. It is a crucial step in our commitment to building a sustainable future. For us transparency is key, so let's dive into the numbers and our action plan. 🤜 📊 Carbon emission breakdown Scope 1: 1.264 tons Scope 2: 309 tons Scope 3: 7.201 tons   🌿 What we're doing well Cogeneration system in place has led to reduce 40% in electricity consumption. We are delighted to announce that we’ve completed our carbon footprint report. 📊 Although we already have many green initiatives in place, we wanted to measure our carbon footprint in order to identify our biggest sources of carbon emissions and prioritise actions to reduce them. We produced this carbon report in collaboration with the expertise of Tapio, which has developed an efficient and user-friendly digital platform. In addition to their digital tool, we benefited from the support of Colin Royer, a sustainable engineer, who guided us on the right methodology to apply and provided us with interesting articles from scientific sources to help us make the right choices.    Before unveiling our figures and action plan, we would like to let you know that our Carbon Report 2022 was funded by the European Union's COSME programme as part of the Tourbit project. Many thanks for their support! We then embarked with our 2023 carbon report. We know that we need to engage our team, suppliers, partners, guests and all the stakeholders of our value chain.
