📣 Eurogas has joined the Zero Emissions Platform! 💡 ZEP acts as an advisor to the European Union on the deployment of #CCS and #CCU, intent on creating the conditions necessary to reach net-zero GHG emissions in Europe by 2050 by accelerating the deployment of large-scale CO2 transport and storage networks. 🔎 Joining ZEP is an important development for Eurogas. We support the 2050 net-zero goal, and advocate for the uptake of #carboncapture as one of the crucial solution that will help us get there. 🤝 We look forward to coordinating with other stakeholders to progress towards these objectives and decarbonise the European gas industry. 📣 Eurogas co-organised a second workshop with the European Commission on the #UnionDatabase last week in collaboration with other associations in the Prime Movers Group on guarantees of origin. 🔦 This initiative aims to enhance the European market for #renewable and #lowcarbon energy and ensure cross-border transferability. During these sessions, the group has developed recommendations for bio-LNG liquefaction and to enable the extra-EU imports of biomethane and biomethane-based fuels. All organisations benefited from the open collaboration with DG ENER and look forward to continuing to move the conversation forward. Another exceptional Eurogas #Renewable Gas Conference and Barbecue has come to an end - some 350+ people attended the barbecue after a record 260+ people came to the conference. So what attracted all these people? Our wonderful food and amazing cocktails kindly offered by Pernod Ricard and our wine from Landwärme GmbH? Yes, but not only... Huge thanks to our keynotes Cristian Signoretto Eurogas' new President from Eni; Kadri Simson European Commission Commissioner for Energy and Dennis Hesseling from the International Energy Agency (IEA) who started the conference with wit, intelligence and insight - lots has been achieved in the last 5 years, but much more is to come in the next 😀 We had a great discussion on the use of renewable gases in industry - special thanks to Dennis Becher Giulia Cancian Zoltan Elek and Biljana Kulisic for the strong discussion about industrial demand for hydrogen and biomethane, the question is only when and how much... Marcel Steinbach gave an excellent overview of the challenges of importing renewable and low carbon gases into Europe - particularly hydrogen and the impact of a certification system that needs to work, but right now only poses more questions?! Maria Pia De Caro gave a beautiful insight into the way that Pernod Ricard use and develop renewable gases for their industrial activities today - and make some of the most wonderful traditional drinks in the process, which we consumed responsibly as a responsible host! And finally a lively, yet friendly debate about the role of renewable gases providing flexibility to the European energy system - sincere thanks to Rosalinde van der Vlies Jens Wulff Giles Dickson and Charlotte Roule 夏澜 who ensured that no-one was left asleep in the sun! And special mention to Sonja van Renssen who controlled the whole event masterfully 👍 My thanks to all the guests that came and enjoyed the discussions that continued over a cold drink and hot food, cooked with renewable gas... Huge appreciation again to our partners Landwärme GmbH SEFE Energy GmbH Pernod Ricard Til the next one!

Thank you for a great Eurogas Renewable Gas #Conference yesterday in #Brussels 👏 It was our pleasure to partner with Eurogas for this year's “Renewable gaseous energy: Where is the demand?” From the engaging speeches and insightful panels to the stimulating conversations at the barbecue afterwards, we were very pleased to see such a lively turnout. 🎤 In order to reach #netzero even sooner than 2050, we not only need a renewable strategy, but also effective execution. Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy at the European Commission, stated that “#renewablegas is a strategic investment for the planet and security in the EU”. As Eurogas President Cristian Signoretto put it: “The #energytransition is a huge challenge, but this challenge entails opportunities for the world as it does for the gas industry.” 💡 Our CEO Zoltan Elek gave the spotlight speech on the requirements needed to establish an integrated market for renewablegas in the EU and the massive impact that #carbonremoval solutions can have on achieving our #climate goals. During the panel “What is the future for renewable gases in industry?” Biljana Kulisic, Policy Officer for Decarbonisation and Sustainability of Energy Sources at the European Commission, said: “Now it is the Member States' turn to implement the approach that was set out in the RED III”. Landwärme welcomes the clear message from Eurogas during the conference that the #EU must enable renewable gas imports from third countries, particularly #biomethane from Ukraine 🌍

☀ Eurogas was thrilled to kick off our 2nd #RenewableGas Conference and Barbecue yesterday in sunny Brussels! 🔎 In our coverage of renewable gaseous energy this year, we looked at #demand and brought in a variety of experts, from energy providers to end-users, to discuss the challenges faced by the industry in delivering climate-neutrality by 2050. The Conference opened with a speech by Cristian Signoretto, the newly elected President of Eurogas. With new legislation supporting renewable gas targets, we stand at a pivotal moment for the energy transition. By partnering with resource-rich countries and embracing a balanced, multi-technology approach, we can ensure #energysecurity, #sustainability, and #competitiveness. We then heard from Dennis Hesseling of the IEA about the part that gas can play in increasing flexibility and resilience in energy systems. Not everything can easily be electrified or always done so consistently. A #multitechnology approach to decarbonisation will be necessary for differing solutions to each play optimised roles in these cases. 🔵 To discuss the legislative progress made during the outgoing Commission, Eurogas was proud to once again host Energy Commissioner #KadriSimson. She outlined the targets set for hydrogen and biomethane, and the frameworks meant to ramp these fuels up, plus measures to increase their competitiveness vis à vis natural gas in order to incentivise investment, as well as diversify suppliers for improving security. These have been important steps towards building a European market for renewable gases. Three presentations - from Zoltan Elek of Landwärme and Marcel Steinbach of SEFE, and Maria Pia De Caro of Pernod Ricard - expanded on the local and global potential of #biomethane and #hydrogen to deliver decarbonisation. These fuels can offer an important supply balance and flexibility through abundant end uses so that energy systems can work more independently while providing emissions reductions. 🎤 Our Conference also saw a wealth of diverse opinions from our two panels, moderated by Sonja van Renssen. The first of these discussed the future for #renewablegases in industry, including affordability, competitiveness, and incentives. The second addressed these fuels' additional potential for filling gaps in hard-to-abate sectors, congested systems and variable climates. All options should be deployed where they can contribute to decarbonisation, working in conjunction to provide needed emissions reductions. 🙏 Eurogas extends a big thank you to all participants for their invaluable contributions! We strive to continue offering high-level events like this full of information and discussion of the important topics facing the industry and are honoured to have once again received such a great turnout. We hope you enjoyed the Conference and that the Barbecue got your summer started just right!
