Ensuring that all people benefit from public spaces and infrastructure is key in promoting liveable and healthy environments and lifestyles. In UPPER we aim to incorporate a vision that is more people-centric and focuses on the specific needs and experiences of different groups to create truly thriving and resilient public spaces and public transport for all regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK 2024 has identified 'Shared Public Space' as the official theme and invites us to collectively decide how to share our public space, and make sure everyone can move around safely and comfortably in a pleasant environment, especially pedestrians and cyclists. it's #UPPERHACKATHON time otra vez The 4th Hackathon occurred in Valencia, EU Green Capital 2024, on 10-11 June. It was a 2-day on-site event for multinational and multidisciplinary teams of students, developers, entrepreneurs, etc. to brainstorm and develop innovative solutions to collaborate in transforming public transport, focusing on the following topics: Mobility infrastructure (EMT València / Ajuntament de València) Data-driven mobility service (UPV) Human-centered design (Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV)) IoT design (ETRA) Congrats to Team / Project “Nuclansa” (User-intuitive safety-focused accessible bus stop shelter) Members: Nuria GUARDIOLA IBAÑEZ, Clara BOSCH CHECA, Antonio OLIVEROS Santiago, José DÍAZ OLIVARES. A new user-intuitive safety-focused concept of bus stops a novel shelter design, built-in with real-time passenger information systems for improving the travel experience, especially for people with reduced mobility. 🤝SHOW Project partners with open summer of code🤝 We are excited to share that the SHOW project teamed up with open summer of code (OSoC) to design the mobility hub of the future! From 1st to 25th of July, the talented ‘SHIFT’ team, composed of three dedicated students, worked tirelessly to create a visionary document featuring a detailed functional system architecture for future urban mobility hubs. This innovative concept seamlessly integrates micromobility and automated vehicles for both passengers and logistics. A comprehensive and engaging vision of what future mobility could look like, including: ✅ User personas ✅Screens for a potential MaaS app ✅The “SHIFT Criteria for a Future Hub” focusing on accessibility, safety, comfort, efficiency, sustainability, technological integration, and versatility.
