⚽ It's match day! Denmark is playing vs England today in Frankfurt am Main🌎🥇 where we can find the world's largest convertible ➡ a unique retractable #PVC membrane roof. The fixed roof over the stands is a membrane-covered ring cable construction with an outer compression ring and two inner tension rings. When the roof is open, the retracted PVC membrane is stored at this central node and can be extended in a few minutes along 32 radial cables using gliding carriages. 🌦 This innovative design allows the stadium to quickly adapt to different weather conditions, enhancing the experience for spectators and players alike. #Germany faces #Hungary today at Stuttgart's MHPArena for #Euro2024 ⌛ Originally constructed in 1933 and renovated several times since, the arena now features a significant 28,000 m² PVC-coated polyester roofing membrane, added in 1993, suspended from an elegant steel frame. This covers the grandstands completely, adding to the stadium's architectural significance. ⚽ In 2009-2011, the arena was converted into a football-only facility. The retrofit included removing the athletic field, lowering the lawn by 1.3 m, and constructing two new grandstands closer to the pitch. The already impressive roof was expanded by 6,000 m², now covering a total of 34,000 m². Discover more about how #PVC is part of the game: https://lnkd.in/eitvMQzk
