This event puts in the spotlight #research undertaken by postgraduate students in the field of #gas and #energy. 🎯 Our objective? 🔎 Spotlight on GERG - European Gas Research Group projects during #EGATEC2024! 🌟 🔬 We are proud to share that most of the EU-funded projects GERG is involved in were featured in the Scientific Project Exhibition during the 6th European Gas Technology Conference held in Hamburg. Reflecting on #EGATEC2024 Conference, co-organised by GERG - European Gas Research Group and MARCOGAZ ! Key Highlights: ✨ Inspiring Keynote Speeches: Our keynote speakers delivered insightful presentations on the international perspective of the energy transition and the role of natural gas in achieving the net-zero goals, leaving us with valuable insights and inspiration for the future. 🗣️ Engaging Panel Discussions: We hosted 9 dynamic panel discussions on critical industry issues such as the #hydrogen revolution, the hydrogen readiness of the #gasinfrastructure, the role of #biomethane and synthetic gases in the future energy mix, the utilisation of #CCUS technologies and the importance of solid regulatory frameworks.  🔬 Research and Innovation: The permanent Poster Exhibition highlighted state-of-the-art projects that drive sustainability and clean technologies, sparking conversations between attendees  🏆 GERG Young Researchers’ Awards: We met the next generation of talented young researchers and their valuable work through their poster exhibition and their 5min pitches on stage.  🤝 Networking Opportunities: The conference provided numerous networking opportunities, fostering connections and collaborations among attendees. Announced at Tuesday’s European Gas Technology Conference 2024 (EGATEC 2024), Tony, previously GERG Vice President, succeeds Mures Zarea from ENGIE. He will lead GERG in developing innovative solutions for Europe’s energy transition. Tony said, “GERG is playing a leading role in the energy transition through collaboration and shared learning. Welcoming Antony Green FREng as the new GERG - European Gas Research Group President! The GERG presidency handover took place this week during the 6th European Gas Technology Conference – #EGATEC2024 in Hamburg, Germany. Antony Green FREng, SGN, former Vice President of GERG, steps into the role of #President of GERG, succeeding Mures Zarea, ENGIE. We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Murès Zarea for his remarkable leadership and numerous contributions to our organisation. His guidance has been instrumental in advancing our goals and shaping GERG’s mission and vision. As leader of the GERG #Methane Emissions Working Group, Murès’s significant contribution and hard work on the methane #emissionsreduction are also widely recognised. We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to continued growth and success under Antony Green's leadership.

🎓 11th GERG YOUNG RESEARCHER’S AWARDS: FINALISTS‘ PITCHES.   The next generation of Young Researchers is ready to take the floor at #EGATEC2024. 🔬 Our 8 Young Researchers’ Awards finalists are presenting their Ph.D. research on stage in front of a high-level audience of industry experts, professionals and other stakeholders. A GERG YRA Committee will evaluate and assess their poster exhibition and their presentation on stage to designate the winner. Good luck to all finalists!
