  • 👷♀️ In 2019, our global gender survey found the Global South significantly lags behind with the share of women at 8% of the wind sector working in Africa and 15% in Asia-Pacific. There's still a lot of work to do to ensure these regions acclimate to better gender ratios. That is why GWEC is working with IRENA on the next Global Gender Survey, so we can review the progress that has been made and continue to focus on building a diverse workforce. This year's findings will provide the basis for a new edition of Renewable Energy: A Gender Perspective Report. This report will be a vital tool in understanding gender dynamics within our industry and shaping future policies and initiatives to promote gender equality and diversity. 🔦 Who Can Participate? Open to ALL individuals and organizations in the renewable energy sector and related industries! 🚨 Make your voice heard and help progress women in the decade of change: https://lnkd.in/eGZVQ5TH 💼 Organized by International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) supported by Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC)s WIW Global Leadership Program and Progress Partner Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation (SWECO).

  • 🚨 GWEC’s 2024 Global Wind Asset Owners Database Report Update is available on our website, on the Market Intelligence tab. 🌍 The top 15 asset owners-operators accounted for 39% of total global wind power capacity installed by the end of 2023 (1021 GW), an 0.6% increase from 2022. 🔍 As more and more pressure is created by governments, corporates and industries (C&I) to decarbonize, will this bring even more players into the market and reduce the current dominance of the big players? It is going to be an interesting transition to watch and GWEC will cover this topic moving forward in future reports. 🔓 Login or subscribe to access the report: https://lnkd.in/e6Msn4TJ
