About us
EHDEN (European Health Data & Evidence Network) was created as a public-private partnership under the framework of the IMI. EHDEN aspires to be a trusted observational research ecosystem that enables better health decisions, outcomes and care for patients across Europe. To achieve this, EHDEN has created a large-scale, federated network of harmonised data sources standardised to the OMOP common data model. "Safeguarding Against Critical Medicines' Shortage" study update: Results (now in preprint) from incidence and prevalence of medicines with suggested drug shortages and their alternatives were discussed by 70 participants from 20 countries during our first webinar in June. Key take-aways: great learnings of differences between countries, markets, and healthcare settings. The September 5 webinar will address the characteristics of users of medicines with suggested shortages and their alternatives. Indeed, excellent summary, Liesbet M. PEETERS - you and the Belgian team are pace-setters!
Data scientist 🦄 - Entrepreneur 🐸 - Idealist 🦋 Passionate about using my talents to make the world a better place
🚢 Today, I had the pleasure of attending the Fifth European OHDSI Symposium on the Steam Ship Rotterdam in the vibrant city of Rotterdam, Netherlands. 🌍 The event themed "Scaling up reliable evidence across Europe" gathered 360 participants from 37 countries, representing academia, industry, and regulators. 📝 I’m excited to share my key takeaways and reflections from this inspiring event in my latest article. From groundbreaking research findings to fostering international collaborations, the symposium provided a wealth of knowledge and a renewed sense of purpose in our work. 👩💻 Special shout out to Tina Parciak, PhD student in my research group, who presented her work on transforming Multiple Sclerosis Real-World Data to the OMOP CDM. Her dedication and expertise are truly impressive. 📈 Curious about the European initiatives using the OMOP CDM? Or the future steps for OHDSI Belgium? Find out more in the article. Let’s continue to push the boundaries of health data science together!
