  • Yesterday, we had the honor of being welcomed to Serbian House in Paris by the Minister of Sport, Mr. Zoran Gajić. The house symbolizes the strong friendship between Serbia, France and ISF - International School Sport Federation. ISF signed a letter of intent with Željko Tanasković, President of Serbian School Sport, to organize the Gymnasiade U15 in the summer of 2025. After a successful World School Volleyball Championship in Belgrade last April, we are excited to return to Serbia, this time to the town of Zlatibor. Despite its small size, Serbia excels in sports due to its deeply rooted sporting tradition. Sports like basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, and water polo are integral parts of Serbian culture. Children are encouraged to participate in sports from an early age. As Mr. Tanasković confirmed, "Sport and physical activity are part of our lives. We want to give children the opportunity to practice sport as a means of growing their potential." The government invests significantly in sports, supporting promising talents. Serbian athletes are known for their passion, dedication, and strong work ethic. World-class athletes like Novak Djokovic and Nikola Jokić inspire younger generations to pursue excellence in sports. Minister Gajić stated, "It is an honor for Serbia to host the ISF Gymnasiade. Young people need the right to be happy and to play sport, regardless of their background. We will have the opportunity to welcome many children from all over the world and to discover different cultures: difference is a treasure. Serbia will be an excellent host, as always. It is important to improve the social situation of our people by promoting a healthy lifestyle." Our President, Laurent PETRYNKA thanked Mr. Tanasković for his support in spreading the message of school sport—education and sport go hand in hand. He concluded by: " Thank you, Minister Gajić: Serbia is the home of sport !"
