🌞Exciting Summer Learning Program at MSD BeLux!🌞 As we are committed to investing in employee growth and development, every summer all MSD BeLux colleagues can embark on one or more Summer Camp sessions to grow and explore their skills. They can upskill, learn about, or discover new topics for which in general during the year they don't always have the time. On top, these camps are hosted by our own employees who are eager to share their knowledge and experiences with their colleagues, such as integrating the patient perspective, work & wellbeing, Excel & PowerPoint skills, the potential of gen AI and much more. 📣 Since July 1st, hats are reimbursed as an alternative to wigs for patients suffering from alopecia (hair loss) as a result of cancer treatment. Concretely, cancer patients will be able to obtain a refund of €120 when they buy a hat.   ✨ This decision comes after long-lasting efforts from the “Caring Hat Fund” organization whose mission is to raise funds to provide a hat to individuals affected by alopecia who do not have the financial means to obtain a quality, tailored hat. The aim is to bring wellbeing and self-confidence to those going through a difficult time due to a serious illness or its treatments. ✨ It is with immense pleasure that we share this great victory from the Caring Hat Fund. Their achievement resonates deeply at MSD. This year, about 40 of our colleagues ran or walked the 20 km of Brussels in support of CARING HAT. Please join us in congratulating the Caring Hat Fund for this important milestone that gives patients a choice. 👏

Exciting news! MSD BeLux has once again made a positive impact by dedicating time and talent to a worthy cause in 2024. 🙌 We are proud that lending a helping hand to Belgian nonprofit organizations has become a fundamental part of our identity. On June 6th, we had over 120 MSD volunteers present at two social organizations in Brecht, Antwerp province: At OC Clara Fey, which specializes in providing customized care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, we helped with various tasks such as gardening, bike repairs, fence installation, catering assistance, and laundry support. We also had the opportunity to visit Kringwinkel De Cirkel, a second-hand shop dedicated to sustainability and social employment. Through giving items a second life and providing suitable jobs for individuals with limited opportunities, together, we are building a more sustainable and inclusive community. 🌍♻️ We would like to express our gratitude to Kringwinkel De Cirkel and OC Clara Fey for warmly welcoming us and allowing us to make a difference: Gaëlle Mistiaen, Magda Hoofmans, Vincent Palinckx & Paul Goetstouwers. Europe voted! Only two days after the European elections, MSD gathered the healthcare community to discuss how important health is likely to be for the next European Parliament and Commission. Katrien De Vos, Managing Director of MSD Belgium, had the great honor of opening the event and share her views on the role of the EU in the implementation of healthcare policies at member state level. She insisted on the role of Europe in fostering innovation and making sure that European citizens have access to innovative vaccines and medicines. Europe should play a facilitating role in sharing best practices between countries to accelerate the implementation of successful healthcare policies. In the fight against HPV-related diseases for example, some member states are on their way to eliminate HPV-related cancers. Clearly, other countries and regions in Europe can learn from their experience to try to achieve the same goal. We believe the new European Commission can play a significant role in helping member states to learn from each other and to lift some of the hurdles they are facing locally. We are thrilled to share that our company-supported employee business resource group NGN (Next Gen Network) successfully hosted the 'MSD ONE' event on Thursday, May 23rd.
