Spraying #pesticides on crops from planes or helicopters is explicitly prohibited by law. Following a complaint from Ecologistas en Acción, the Spanish Ombudsman reiterates that aerial spraying of rice fields with pesticides not authorised for this method is illegal. https://lnkd.in/egBRwSQH

Widespread water contamination all over Europe. An exploratory joint survey of 23 surface and 6 groundwater samples from 10 EU countries has revealed alarming levels of the little-known and largely unregulated ‘forever chemical’ #TFA (Trifluoroacetic acid). The European Commission rejected the formal request by PAN Europe and 5 of its member NGOs to review the 10-year re-approval of #glyphosate. The NGOs will challenge the decision in court 🧑⚖️🌱 #STOPGlyphosate https://lnkd.in/erpqe4FU

A study by PAN Europe and its members reveals a bitter truth: European citizens are increasingly exposed to cocktails of #PFAS #pesticides through their food 🍓🍑🥒 This subgroup of ‘forever chemicals’ are deliberately sprayed on food crops, making non-organic fresh fruit and vegetables a direct and systematic route of exposure for consumers.
