This week, we reached a significant milestone for sustainable IT in Belgium and Europe with the first GreenTech Forum Brussels. As co-organiser, SustAIn.brussels is thrilled to have participated to GreenTech Forum Brussels organised by FormuleMagique, co-organised by Belgian Institute for Sustainable IT asbl/vzw and numeum, under the patronage of Planet Tech'Care.✨🌱 Over two inspiring days, nearly 700 visitors, 150 speakers and exhibitors participated in 21 round tables and 15 workshops. These sessions covered crucial topics such as Responsible Enterprises, Sustainable IT infrastructure and services, tools, certifications, standards, norms & regulations, and ecological & social transition and innovation. This success is a proof of the power of collaboration. An achievement made possible only by the remarkable teamwork between all partners. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic event! 🤝🎉 We also extend our gratitude to Innoviris and hub.brussels for co-hosting the Brussels Pavilion with us, highlighting the support available to companies in our region. And a special thanks to our exhibitors for their support and for showcasing their exceptional solutions. Thank you for joining us at our AI Happy Hour last week! We had fantastic discussions on LLM, RAG, and Embeddings for real-world use cases, led by Lluc Bono & Julien Baudru from IRIDIA lab at ULB. Their key takeaway: 💡"𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻, 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁." Using a parrot metaphor, they emphasized, "If you want a parrot to tell you the truth, you first need to tell the parrot the truth." 💡To tackle LLM limitations like hallucinations, they recommend using 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹-𝗔𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. These techniques reduce errors, clearly identify sources, and improve search capabilities.
