📢 Exciting insights from our groundbreaking event on family planning, socioeconomics, and gender equity! 🚀   On May 28th, we hosted a transformative event exploring health innovation, socioeconomics, and gender equity. This event, part of the Vlerick Business School-Organon collaboration, highlighted the impact of family planning technologies on gender pay equity.   📊 Key Highlights: 🔵 Walter Van Dyck discussed the family planning technology’s societal value and its effect on the gender pay gap (GPG). 🔵 Aleksandra Klein noted that both short and long-acting methods reduce the GPG, recommending increased awareness through public channels and education. 🔵 Marleen Temmerman highlighted the need for policies that address the issues faced by women and girls when trying to access their preferred family planning method. 🔵 Esha Mendiratta described the GPG as a complex issue, stressing the importance of identifying the root cause for the GPG in each company and finding tailored solutions. 🔵 Koen Dewettinck highlighted the need for awareness at all organizational levels to reduce the GPG. 🔵 Krzysztof (Kris) Wojciechowski emphasized that education is crucial for removing accessibility barriers, advocating for user-friendly language to improve contraception accessibility. 🔵 Lode Lauwaert discussed how cultural norms and government policies significantly influence the adoption and use of medical technologies 🔵 Vladislav Veližanin mentioned that the 2024 Atlas (https://lnkd.in/dE3BCY9j), emphasizing show the complexity and the need for better access to contraception and education for all.   🤝 Thank you to all contributors. This week, our Women in Leadership Club hosted a workshop diving into the intricate dynamics that mold our workplaces and shape our individual experiences within them. We extend our gratitude to our two exceptional facilitators, Lieve Van de Walle and Timmie de Pooter, whose expertise shed light on the systemic challenges within organizations, encouraging us to dig deeper and take action towards fostering a more inclusive business environment. This workshop offered invaluable insights, ranging from understanding the motivations behind human behavior to navigating gender dynamics. Through real-life examples and guided discussions, participants were equipped with practical knowledge, cultivating an environment conducive to growth and positive impact.
