About

Over 20 years of senior level experience in politics, governmental affairs, EU funds management and policy advocacy.

On local political level, as city councillor I am active in European and International Relations; Culture, Transport and Environment Committees of Varna City Council. I also was selected in the European Network of Regional and Local Councillors of the Committee of the Regions and sit in the Varna Regional Council for Development and the Monitoring Committee of the Plan for Integrated Development of Varna.
Being representative for a decade of the City of Varna in Brussels, I provided policy advice to local government and businesses, bringing the EU agenda at local level. It included practical consultations on European, national and local policies with impact on the urban development.
Having served as Member of the European Parliament, I gained detailed understanding of the EU decision-making process and of Brussels political environment.
As Senior Government Official in charge of an EU funded € 181 million Operational Programme for Administrative Capacity, my responsibilities were the drafting of the programme, its negotiation with the European Commission and the relevant stakeholders, and its implementation.
My EU public affairs background includes experience as Policy Officer in the Brussels based organisation EUROCITIES, where my responsibilities ranged from writing position papers, to information dissemination, event organisation, members’ advice and management of projects.
In political capacity, I represented the Bulgarian King Simeon's party NMSS in the Council of the European Liberals and Democrats Party (ELDR) and contributed to events organised by political organisations, think-tanks and other non-governmental bodies across Europe.

I have a Master’s Degree in International Economic and Political Relations with Major in Trade from the Cracow Academy of Economics, Poland, and a Post-Graduate Degree in European and International Relations from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Specialties: Advanced knowledge of EU public affairs, proven organisational, analytical and management skills with the highest levels of diplomacy and financial accountability. A Bulgarian national, I speak fluently English, Polish, French and Italian, and work in Russian and Spanish.
