“Emanuel was a really very impressive member of my team and took responsibility for my foreign affairs work, including all my work on AFET (the European Parliament's foreign affairs committee) and the Parliament's Iran delegation. He works hard and is formidably bright and has a very clear grasp of both EU and global politics. He organised a successful final conference on Iran at the end of my mandate (alongside the office of my co-host Nathalie Loiseau MEP), sorting out the venue, interpreters and refreshments, liaising with top level speakers and invited guests and making sure the event was publicised. This combination of intelligence, good organisationsal and project management skills and teamworking is pretty rare but Emanuel is also an enormously likeable colleague with a brilliant dry sense of humour. ”
