  • Deloitte Digital Innovathon Day

    During this one-day innovation challenge I had to create, together with my team, a new digital concept. There were 3 different cases randomly assigned to 13 groups of 3 people. Our case was about creating a new digital concept in SMART homes for insurance companies, with safety and security as core values.     During this one-day innovation challenge I had to create, together with my team, a new digital concept. There were 3 different cases randomly assigned to 13 groups of 3 people. Our case was about creating a new digital concept in SMART homes for insurance companies, with safety and security as core values. During this day, we explored, designed and prototyped a digital solution starting from concrete industry/ business or customer needs and questions. At the end of the day, each team had to pitch the concept for everyone and a jury selected the winning ideas. Awards were given for the Best Business idea, the Best Creative idea and the Best Technology idea. Our team won the 'Best Creative idea' award with our 'My Homie' concept. A drone, My Homebie, is your friend as well as your ears and eyes in your home when you're not there. The My Homie application lets you see all the measured values of sensors placed in your home. Think of sensors in appliances such as Nest that will all be connected to each other in the near future ('The Internet Of Things'). Temperature, humidity, movement, light, and so on will be displayed in one application, that sends notifications when something is not right. It handles prevention (preprogrammed drone tour + data connected devices) as well as intervention (fix problems). 3 possible problem solvers are provided when a problem is detected. First of all, you can fix it yourself in the application for connected devices, f.ex. to turn off the heating. If the problem can't be automatically solved and if the problem can be easily fixed, f.ex. a hungry cat that needs to be fed, it lets you contact your family, friends,... These trusted people will have access to the application and will get notified by these problems, that can be fixed if one of them is in the neigbourhood or can stop by during the day. If the problem is more complex, a direct message will be sent to the supplier, who will fix the broken appliance f.ex.

    Onze opdracht was het volledig in kaart brengen van de opbouw van een webshop voor een wijnclub met ruim 10.000 leden in België. Dit ging van concurrentiële analyse en analyse van de markt tot het uitwerken van het logistieke luik, financieel plan, het opmaken van de wireframes en de marketing. Dit werd in april gepresenteerd en verdedigd voor de jury. Een all-in opdracht dus, die tevens het grootste project van deze postgraduaat vormt.

    6 students Commercial Sciences had to be selected to go on this enriching entrepreneurial trip to Spain. You had to apply and motivate why you should be part of the team. Our Belgian team had to come up with an idea to raise funds to go on the seminar. We organized a big spaghetti event on our own which was a great success. This meant our trip to Spain was completely paid for and even more. The happy Belgian team could therefore start the entrepreneurial seminar with a big smile. 6 students of…

The happy Belgian team could therefore start the entrepreneurial seminar with a big smile. 6 students of 6 participating countries came together in Mataro (near to Barcelona) and were divided in multicultural teams of 6 people (one of each country). Every team had to develop a new product concept that is particularly sustainable and innovative. Team building, workshops, making prototypes, elevator pitching (to entrepreneurs), trendwatching, setting up a guerilla marketing campaign and giving presentations were the main activities. This seminar was a challenging and great experience and gave the opportunity to get to know young entrepreneurs from all over the world!
