    Artificial Intelligence for Pulmonary Function Testing. The general objective of a doctoral research project was to develop artificial intelligence for the interpretation of pulmonary function tests (PFT), which is more reliable, more specific and therefore more likely to be incorporated into daily practice.

    To achieve this objective, different mathematical modelling were applied to existing tests. We defined new parameters that correlate well with phenotypic characteristics of different types of airway diseases. Subsequently, newly invented and existing parameters were integrated into one artificial intelligence system for the interpretation of PFTs for patients with lung disease.
