Environmental Consultant (Associate Level)

ERM Greater São Paulo Area

ERM is looking for a motivated, hands-on Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Chemical Engineer or Geologist to join our consulting firm in São Paulo as Environmental Subcontractor Management Consultant.

Working under the direction of project managers and partners, the successful candidate will work on interesting site investigation, remediation, and DDD (decontamination, decommissioning and demolition) projects throughout the region, with increasing responsibility for task/project management duties. This employment opportunity is available for special needs candidates too.

This is a great opportunity to work with ERM's technical experts to implement the latest investigation and remediation technologies as well as more sustainable approaches, while building the required experience to obtain your professional registration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and oversee subcontractors and fieldwork including sampling, drilling, well installation, soil, groundwater and free-phase product assessment, vapor intrusion assessment, remedial pilot tests and remedial system construction oversight
  • Monitoring and execution of DDD and excavation projects
  • Responsible for data assessment and preparation of technical reports
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with ERM employees, clients, and subcontractors

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Geology
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; Experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports
  • Experience with progressive project for complex site investigation/remediation under a variety of local, state, and federal regulatory structures.
  • Experience in the environmental area and with geotechnics, excavation and demolition projects are desirable
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established ERM and Clients Health and Safety protocols
  • Ability to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed (including long term projects)
  • Availability to business travel and valid driver’s license
  • Advanced or fluent English
