🛫 INFRASTRUCTURE FORUM BRAZIL-SWITZERLAND 2024 - ZURICH AIRPORT More sustainable airports: in Florianópolis and Vitória planes on the ground use electricity from renewable sources!   Committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the aviation industry's ESG strategies, Zurich Airport Brasil implemented a system at Florianópolis and Vitória airports that provides electrical energy from renewable sources for aircraft on the ground.   The equipment ensures that the electrical part and air conditioning of planes on the groundwork only with the energy supplied by the airport, purchased from the Free Energy Market and certified with the I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate).   Before that, it was necessary to use external diesel generators or drive the plane's kerosene turbine to maintain operation. By eliminating the use of GPUs and APUs, it is planned to reduce emissions of around 1,3K tons of CO2/year at the Florianópolis terminal and 1,2K ton/year at Vitória Airport.   The Swiss group invested R$21 million to install the system on the ten boarding bridges in Florianópolis and the six bridges in the capital of Espírito Santo. In addition to the airports managed by Zurich Airport Brasil, only two other airports in the country offer the solution, which came into operation in March this year. By the end of this year, the system will arrive at Natal International Airport, managed by Zurich Airport Brasil since February 19, with a new investment of almost R$6.8 million.   “To be effective in contributing to the climate agenda we need to transform our commitment to the environment into actions. The important investment made by Zurich Airport Brasil in this project reinforces the priority of the topic for the company and represents a major advance in our ESG strategy,” highlights Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil.     The program has the support of the country's main companies: Azul, Gol, and Latam signed a contract with the airport administrator to use the service from the beginning of operation. The project has the support of the Brazilian Association of Airlines (Abear) and the Brazilian Association of Airports (ABR).   Zurich Airport Brasil's Sustainability Area operates with a focus on four central themes: energy, water, waste, and air quality management. In the latest edition of ANAC's Sustainable Airports Award, Florianópolis and Macaé Airports, also managed by Zurich Airport Brasil, won first place in their categories. IF SÃO PAULO WAS A COUNTRY IT WOULD BE THE THIRD LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE LATAM REGION, BEHIND BRAZIL AND MÉXICO With a GDP of USD 600+B (6% growth in 2023), São Paulo is also the world’s largest producer of sugar, ethanol and orange juice. The port of Santos and the airport of Guarulhos are the largest in Latin America. Today, I had the great pleasure to visit Arthur Luis Pinho de Lima, Secretário Chefe da Casa Civil of the State of São Paulo, Samo Tosatti, Chefe da Assessoria Internacional do Governo do Estado de São Paulo and Mauro Arima, Advisor of International Affairs, together with the Ambassador of Switzerland Pietro Lazzeri and the Consul General of Switzerland in São Paulo, Pierre Hagmann. 🇨🇭 is the fifth largest investor in 🇧🇷 and São Paulo is home to many of the 500+ Swiss companies in Brazil. The Infrastructure Forum Brazil-Switzerland 2024 - on the road to net zero will further strenghten our ties. Brazil committed to net zero 2050 and we will discuss options to decarbonize the urban mobility, aviation, maritime and agriculture sectors as well as de-risking of infrastructure projects, also in the light of climate change. Joining forces is key. And this is why our 11 panels are composed of a high level representative of the Brazilian Government (plans and priorities), Brazilian operators (the operators view) and Swiss companies (technological solutions). Switzerland has been awarded the world’s most innovative country for 10 consecutive years. And this comes at a price. 🇨🇭 invests 915 EUR per capita in R&D, followed by Luxemburg with 647 EUR per capita. Wonder what the output is? Join the Infra Forum in São Paulo and find out. Attention: The event is already sold out. Interested parties can still register on the waiting list until end of August. We planned a capacity for 300 participants and were pretty overwhelmed by the great interest. Sorry, we did not expect this either. And now we also look very much forward to welcome the Governo do Estado de São Paulo to share the plans and priorities of the state in the infrastructure and environment sector. https://lnkd.in/d8P9sTzu Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA Suíça no Brasil Switzerland Global Enterprise Swissnex in Brazil SERV Swiss Export Risk Insurance Empa G20 Brasil 2024 #infraestrutura #infrastructure #racetonetzero

This shift not only aims to improve infrastructure and service delivery but also unlocks substantial investment opportunities in Sanitation. With the privatisation, 15% of SABESP is now owned by Equatorial Energia, positioning it as the reference investor in this groundbreaking process. This privatization aligns with the company's ambitious goals, including the anticipation of universal sanitation by 2029, and presents numerous opportunities for companies specializing in infrastructure, technology, and engineering services. Technological Integration: With plans to enhance its services through cutting-edge technologies like AI, BIM, and satellite imaging, there is a growing need for partners that can provide innovative solutions. Environmental Projects: As part of its ESG initiatives, SABESP is expanding its circular economy practices and renewable energy projects, including biogas and photovoltaic plants, creating avenues for green technology providers. Swiss companies, known for their excellence in these areas, are uniquely positioned to contribute to and benefit from these developments. At the Swiss Business Hub Brazil, we are ready to support Swiss companies in navigating and capitalizing on these opportunities. Our expertise and local presence can help you engage effectively with SABESP’s privatization efforts and explore how your expertise can make a difference in Brazil's sanitation sector! 📅 Mark Your Calendars: We will be further exploring these opportunities at the Infrastructure Forum Brazil-Switzerland 2024 – On the Road to Net Zero in October.
