BHC TO BUILD HOUSES IN NATA The Corporation will construct a total of 14 housing units in the Nata village in the Tutume District. This was revealed by the BHC Chief Executive Office, Mr. Nkaelang Matenge when briefing the Tutume District Full Council on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in Tutume. The houses are expected to alleviate a shortage of accommodation, particularly among public workers in Nata. The Contract has already been awarded to 100% citizen-owned contractors as part of the Government’s efforts towards citizen economic empowerment. The project is currently at the commissioning stage and construction is expected to start in the first quarter of the 2024/25 financial year. #stakeholderengagement #citizeneconomicempowerment #BHCAccommodatingYourFuture

The Corporation is currently building an additional 9 houses in Matsiloje, which will be completed in October 2024. The houses are an addition to the 10 already existing houses which were recently completed and currently occupied. 𝐁𝐇𝐂 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐔𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐓𝐈 𝐎𝐍 𝐔𝐏𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 The Corporation met with stakeholders in Maun and Boteti Districts to inform them regarding upcoming developments in Maun and Boteti. BHC will be starting a mixture of 100 low, medium and high income houses in Matlapana, Maun while plans are already advanced to kickstart 30 low income houses in Rakops village to alleviate shortage of accommodation in the village. Furthermore, the Corporation is finalising requirements to inject a total of 72 housing units in Letlhakane village in a bit to address shortage of accommodation particularly among public servants. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING FROM LESOTHO PAYS COURTESY CALL ON BHC Lesotho’s Department of Housing yesterday paid a courtesy call to Botswana Housing Corporation learn on Social Housing options Botswana offers to its citizens. During their five-day visit the Lesotho delegation will get to explore how the Botswana Government administrates and manages Social Housing in general. They will also look at the Legal and Regulatory Framework regarding Social Housing and will also tour various sites in and outside Gaborone such as Mabutsane, Artesia, Mochudi and Tlokweng to view the different Housing Schemes developed by BHC. These will also include the Youth Housing Scheme in Tsholofelo East and the Self Help Housing Agency (SHHA) housing units. At BHC the team met with the CEO, Mr. Nkaelang Matenge who took them through a brief presentation of the Corporation’s mandate and projects.

BHC INNOVATION WEEK - DAY 2 BHC employees took part in a hands-on workshop exploring the fundamental principles of cultivating an innovation mindset. The employees were assembled into groups where they brainstormed collectively on "Characteristics of an Innovative mindset." Fearless, agile and resilent were some of the characteristics mentioned. In order to bring innovation right at home, the employees participated in a thrilling competition that brought out their innovative mindset. The innovation week will run from March 4th – 15th and includes activities, which are destined to spark flames of innovation within all staff, through creative thinking, collaboration, and groundbreaking innovation submissions. The Innovation Week is delivered in partnership with TheNeoHub, a 100% Citizen owned Consultancy Firm, who are industry leaders in innovation and organizational development. Their role will be to ensure the successful delivery of this program.
