Education is the key to success for youth. But, youth experiencing homelessness are at a disadvantage - the dropout rate for homeless youth is 53% which is much higher than the less than 9% for those not experiencing homelessness. Disengagement from school can have a negative impact on a young person’s overall health and well-being, and it can also increase the likelihood of them having interactions with the justice system.
