    This fall at APTN, get ready for some awesome new and returning shows that will keep you hooked. In September, fans can look forward to the return of favourite shows like Secret History: Women Warriors, the fourth season of Chuck and the First Peoples' Kitchen, and the premiere of a new series, Wild Rose Vets. These programs continue to showcase the vibrant cultures and unique experiences of Indigenous communities from coast to coast to coast. But wait, there's more! APTN will premiere Star Wars (Anangong Miigaading), A New Hope, for the first time. The epic saga will be told in Anishinaabemowin on Sunday, October 13, on both APTN and APTN Languages, with streaming available on Disney+. This exciting event marks a new hope for the continuation and celebration of Indigenous languages across Turtle Island.     CALL FOR NEW BOARD MEMBERS. APTN invites passionate leaders to help shape the future of Indigenous media APTN continues enhancing its role in the media landscape with innovative programming and seeks passionate leaders eager to guide, shape, and influence its future. Board members will play a critical role in steering the direction, particularly as APTN expands its offerings through two exciting channels: APTN (featuring English and French programming) and APTN Languages (dedicated to Indigenous language programming). By becoming a board member, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to APTN’s mission to share our Peoples’ journey, celebrate our cultures, inspire our children and honour the wisdom of our Elders. Five positions are available, one for each regional quadrant except for the southwest, which has two.     Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council, the University of Manitoba, Disney/Lucasfilm and APTN are excited to announce the premiere of the official Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) version of Star Wars: A New Hope on August 8, 2024 at Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Starting August 10, you can catch the film in limited release in Winnipeg and other select markets. Walt Disney Studios Canada is teaming up with local exhibitors to offer free screenings for the community.     Applications are now open for the Canadian Academy's Women in Post Program! This ongoing national initiative is designed to support women and non-binary professionals in the post-production industry, helping to break down barriers and create new opportunities. The program is bilingual, so whether you're from Québec or a Francophone from another region, you're encouraged to apply. While most sessions will be in English, some French and bilingual programming will also be available. Plus, you can submit your application in either French or English.     The CBC-APTN Early Stage Scripted Development Program for Indigenous Creators, in association with the Indigenous Screen Office, is returning for a third year! This program will create a unique opportunity for up to three emerging creators with projects still in the pre-development phase to work closely with APTN and CBC executives to help move their projects into development and, ultimately, into the production phase. Mark your calendars! Applications opened on Thursday, June 6 and will close on Wednesday, July 10. Feel free to ask any questions before submitting your application.
