  • Thanks to the generosity of our donors, BC Women's Health Foundation is proud to continue supporting the BC Women's Fellowship in Family Planning Program. This Fellowship expands access to reproductive care for women across Canada. It is the first and only Fellowship in Canada that provides comprehensive post-graduate training in complex contraception and advanced abortion clinical care. The BC Women's Fellowship in Family Planning Program aims to provide every province with an expert in complex contraception, creating a comprehensive national network of care for Canadian women. We are extremely pleased to introduce you to BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre’s newest fellow, Dr. Sabrina Lee! As the newest fellow to complete the Advanced Training in Family Planning, Dr. Lee will conduct her clinical training at BC Women’s Hospital’s CARE Program. During this training, she has the opportunity to continue working with the Contraception and Abortion Research Team (CART) on multiple policy-influencing family planning research projects. She is currently involved in the CART Access Project which aims to improve access to abortion care in underserved populations through the establishment of mentorship hubs across Canada. These hubs serve as resource points for providers countrywide looking for guidance in providing this essential care and will develop a national strategy on abortion care. 🎉 Celebrating Phoenix and Willow's First Birthday! 🎉 A year ago, my wife and I welcomed our twin girls, Phoenix and Willow, into the world. They arrived three months early, bringing a whirlwind of emotions and challenges. Willow, our resilient little fighter, underwent three surgeries, the first on her second day on this planet, and spent over 100 days in the BC Women's NICU. Phoenix, with her fiery spirit and fewer complications, stayed in the NICU for around 90 days. It has been a crazy and tough year, filled with highs and lows. Through sleepless nights, countless doctor visits, and moments of uncertainty, we held onto hope and the incredible care from the BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre NICU. Their dedication and expertise made all the difference in our journey. This weekend, we were overjoyed to throw a big celebration for the twins first birthday. Seeing their smiles and the joy on their faces made everything worthwhile. Although they didn't give us any smiles for the photos! To honor this milestone and give back to the NICU that gave us so much, we are raising funds to support their vital work. My family is proud to announce that we will be matching every donation made. Together, we can ensure that other families receive the same life-saving care and support that we did. Join us in celebrating Phoenix and Willow's remarkable first year by donating to the BC Women's Health Foundation in support of the NICU. Your generosity will make a world of difference for many families in need. Thank you for your support and for helping us give back to the place that gave us our greatest gifts. 💕 Donation Campaign Link: https://lnkd.in/grCtu-S9 #NICU #BCWomensHospital #PhoenixAndWillow #FirstBirthday #Gratitude #Fundraiser #GiveBack

  • In BC, when a baby is born too small or too sick, they come to the only regional quaternary level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the province. The NICU at BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre, the largest in Canada, cares for up to 1,200 babies from across BC and the Yukon every year. Right now, the BC Women's NICU requires $1.2 million in funding to meet its most critical equipment needs. Your support will directly impact these tiny patients by funding medical equipment that prevents neurological complications, provides respiratory support, optimizes lung function, and protects against brain injuries. That's why this year's #GlowGala Fund-A-Need will support the BC Women's NICU, and empower the team with state-of-the-art technology.
