We are continuing our growth course with a strategic acquisition: For our Energy and Building Technology business sector, the Bosch Group plans to take over the global HVAC solutions business for residential and light commercial buildings from Johnson Controls. As part of this transaction, we also intend to acquire 100 percent of the Johnson Controls–Hitachi Air Conditioning joint venture, including Hitachi's 40 percent stake.   💬 "As the biggest acquisition in Bosch history, this is an important milestone in the systematic implementation of our strategy for 2030. We are dynamically pushing ahead with the strong development of Bosch, and will achieve a globally leading position in the promising HVAC market with this acquisition," says Bosch chairman Stefan Hartung. 💬 Bosch deputy chairman Christian Fischer adds: "With this acquisition, Bosch will accelerate its growth and nearly double its sales revenue in the HVAC market to roughly 9 billion euros. Together with our future colleagues, we want to seize the huge opportunities offered by the market for the further growth of this new unit." 💬 "It is Bosch's aim to play an active part in shaping the innovative and growing market for energy and building technology, and to occupy a globally leading position. With this acquisition, we are improving our position, especially in air conditioning. In addition, we will be able to globally expand our heat-pump business and achieve greater economies of scale," says Frank Meyer, Bosch board member and responsible for the Energy and Building Technology business sector.   Bosch intends to integrate the acquired businesses into the Bosch Home Comfort Group. Home Comfort is excellently positioned in the major segments of the heating market, of the heat-pump market, and of the market for heat pump-hybrid solutions, which comprise a heat pump and a fossil fuel-fired boiler for peak loads.   💬 Jan Brockmann, president of the Bosch Home Comfort Group, says: "With our successful heating technology in Europe, we already have a strong team and a sound foundation. Now is the right time for a bold step toward a global presence. Together, we will be able to build on strong, well-established brands. We are looking forward to shaping the future of the Bosch Home Comfort Group with our future colleagues and their innovations and ideas."   Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eauTwNx8

🏠Home is where the heart is, but have you thought about the impact of maintaining a comfortable temperature within its walls? Roughly half of your home’s energy is going into heating and cooling, and it’s time to turn your attention to how you’re keeping yourself and your loved ones comfortable. Have you ever considered a heat pump? Heat pumps have been around for a long time, but interest has picked up, as the latest technology positions them to help reduce carbon emissions, and attention is turning to more efficient systems that don't use natural gas. Here are three things you need to know about the future of heating and cooling with heat pumps: 🏠Over the next 5-10 years, heat pumps will likely be the most common type of heating and cooling equipment in the home, according to Bosch Home Comfort product manager, Katie Woodling. 🏠Heat pumps simply move heat. Just as a refrigerator uses the magic of gas compression to transfer heat from inside a space to the outside, heat pumps use it to move heat from the outside in and can work in reverse to cool the home. 🏠One heat pump can take the place of an air conditioner AND gas furnace, and there are options that are built for extreme temperatures, like the Bosch IDS Ultra Cold Climate Heat Pump. Educating and inspiring young generations is one of the most powerful ways to build a better world. 🌎 The #BoschCommunityFund, in partnership with organizations across Canada and the U.S., is committed to supporting initiatives that promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and environmental education. Some of the projects also provide local Bosch associates with the opportunity to engage firsthand with these impactful projects. "As a representative from Bosch, I had the incredible opportunity to attend an amazing Earth Rangers showcase at an elementary school in Mississauga. The whole school, from KG to grade 8, gathered to witness this interactive event, where Earth Rangers brought a variety of captivating animals to the assembly," said Dana Mitry, a colleague from BSH (the Bosch home appliances division. "It was a privilege to see the students' faces light up as they got up close and personal with these incredible creatures. The Earth Rangers team did an outstanding job engaging the students with informative presentations, and I am proud to watch how this project inspires young minds," complements Dana. 💚 #STEM #Environmental #Education #InventedForLife

For almost 100 years, Bosch has been setting new standards making cars safer by means of technical innovations, inventions, and patents for braking systems. To name a few: 🚀 In 1927, the pneumatic servo brake significantly increased the road safety. The braking distance of contemporary commercial vehicles was reduced by one third. 🚀 One year later, Bosch presented the brake support, a compact brake assistance system for passenger cars. 🚀 In 1936, the basis for modern anti-lock braking systems was laid when Bosch filed a patent for a "mechanism to prevent locking of the wheels of a motor vehicle." 🚀 In 1978, the powerful digital technology allowed the series production of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). Stay tuned for more about our solutions for even better safety, dynamics, convenience, and driving enjoyment. #BoschTechDay #history #braking #mobility #technology #archive
