We are thrilled to share the significant progress on the Terra Townhomes project in Airdrie. Since being brought on board to assist with the completion of phases 3, 4, and 5, we have fully finished 53 out of the 111 units.   All building structures are now finished, with each unit advancing through various stages. Our trade partners are making great progress in framing, siding, and roofing. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our multi-family construction projects by effectively managing various administrative, communication, and coordination tasks. The Project Coordinator will collaborate with the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and other stakeholders to oversee project schedules, track progress and milestones, manage documentation (RFI, change orders, and contracts) and handle procurement and resource allocation. A key part of the role will involve maintaining diligent follow-up systems and effective communication channels to ensure timely responses and resolutions. I'm able to apply all my Red Seal Carpentry trade knowledge and PM schooling in my daily work. Being onsite gives me awareness of potential issues, and my trade knowledge and skills enable me to always be part of the solution." ❓How do you stay organized and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively?   "My number one tool is my construction journal. The job is too fast-paced to rely on memory—if it’s not written down, it’s a risk to the project. I log everything and review often, which always leads to my “Top 5’s.” This tool helps me prioritize and avoid feeling overwhelmed. I make a list of the 5 most pressing tasks, work until they’re complete, and then create another list of the top 5 project priorities." ❓Which achievements or milestones at Cairo Development are you particularly proud of?   "I’m proud to be part of an amazing team—Cairo is the “biggest” small company. I feel very supported in my role and have the unique opportunity to learn directly from our owner and upper management, which isn’t common at most companies of this size. As I approach my one-year anniversary with Cairo, I’m excited about our bright future. My ongoing quest for learning is always fulfilled in my current role, and I look forward to future roles with Cairo Development." ❓What advice would you offer to someone aspiring to become a Project Coordinator in the construction field?   "I personally believe that having hands-on construction knowledge is crucial. The combination of my Carpentry Red Seal qualification and my Construction Estimating and Administrative Controls certificate gives me a unique perspective. It enables me to fully understand blueprints, engage in informed conversations with trades, and discuss topics intelligently—all while being mindful of budget and schedule constraints. Our Henley Heights townhome project in Edmonton is progressing well, thanks to the hard work of our team and trade partners.   Siding is complete on five buildings, and the remaining buildings are moving along steadily. Inside the units, most finishes, including taping, doors, and trim painting, are nearly finished , with only two buildings still in progress. Installation of LVP flooring and cabinetry is also complete in four buildings, with the remaining buildings progressing smoothly.   This project includes a total of 108 units spread across eight buildings, offering various layouts.
