CanLII is excited to announce our publication of the second edition of "Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law in Canada: Cases, Materials, and Problems" (https://lnkd.in/grKeWpYZ) in our legal commentary collection. This book was edited by Jassmine Girgis , Alfonso Nocilla, and Virginia T. Torrie and co-authored by them along with fellow lawyers and legal scholars Colin Jackson, Cody Reedman, Vern DaRe, Chris Simard, Keely Cameron, and Maziar Peihani. The first edition of this text, co-edited by Stephanie Ben-Ishai and Thomas GW Telfer, was published in 2019 by Irwin Law. This new edition is particularly noteworthy as it is the first open access text on Canadian bankruptcy and insolvency law, making it freely available to practitioners, students, and anyone interested in understanding the complexities of this area of law. The editors have meticulously updated the content to reflect the latest legal developments, providing readers with comprehensive coverage of the subject through carefully selected cases, thought-provoking commentaries, and the inclusion of post-reading questions to assess comprehension of the material. At CanLII, we are committed to improving access to legal information, and the publication of this book aligns perfectly with our mission. By offering this text as an open access resource, we are helping to democratize legal knowledge, ensuring that high-quality educational materials are accessible to all. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Professors Girgis, Nocilla, and Torrie for choosing CanLII to publish this important work. Their dedication to legal education and their commitment to making this resource freely available will undoubtedly benefit the Canadian legal community and beyond. If you would like to publish a piece of legal commentary on CanLII, please contact us with a proposal by email at [email protected] or make a submission to the CanLII Authors Program.
