Introducing Penticton's 'Friendly Streets' campaign, harnessing the power of community collaboration to help make our streets safer and more vibrant. By using paint, stencils and many helping hands, we added splashes of colour and new traffic safety improvements to two high-traffic areas in Penticton. Thank you to everyone who took part! Exciting news! The City of Penticton's books recycling campaign has been recognized on a global stage. The City's Communications team has been awarded an IABC Gold Quill, which recognizes the top communications initiatives around the world. It was in support of the City's Sustainability department. 📚 Last year, 51,000 pounds of books was diverted from the landfill. 📚 The number of books incorrectly found in home recycling carts was reduced by half. 📚 By creating a whole new way to recycle books, it helped bring down our city's overall recycling contamination rate to acceptable levels, sparing the community from paying penalty fees.
